destiny. it was that one word that caused so many controversies around them. soulmates. a strong word that you would carry around you all the time in hopes meeting the one you are destined for.
that was at least what taehyung thought. but he had already lost hopes in soulmates so long ago. he had felt aas if he had the need to leave that behind him. 'who needed soulmates anyways?' he asked himself whenever he saw people hanging out with their significant other. he knew soulmates were not limited to romance, but had he any luck in friendships if not in romance? not really. just a boring, 243 year old student that barely left his home unless it was for school. he always stared at the piece of red string on his wrist. he knew about his soulmate and who he was. but he didn't dare to tell them a word. they say that you can see your soulmates red string when you find them. that is how you recognise them. he had seen theirs. but had they seen his?
but, well you see, the opposite thing was with jungkook. he was the type of kid that believed in soulmates. he knew there was someone that was destined for him and only him. he knew that they will never be someone else's but his.
jungkook once read about the red string of fate. the exact same string on his wrist. 'an invisble red thread connects those who are destined to meet regardles of time, place, or circumstances. the thread may stretch or tangle but will never break' so it said in the library books. he was much of a hopeless romantic to believe in those things. he knew there was someone out there that was waiting for him.

splish. splash. the sounds that the water puddles made underneath jungkook while he ran home, his arms full of books. he entered the small apartment he had shared with his roommate, who barely was ever here.
he pilled the books on the dining table. each one of them was either about the red string of fate, fate in general or just soulmates. he wanted to learn so much about it.
the door of his apartment opened, and the quirky and jumpy roommate jimin entered the apartment. 'jungkookie?' jimin called out. 'here!' jimin's head popped in the door frame of the dining room as he stared at the younger.
'what exactly are you doing?' he asked him, coming closer. 'oh, not again one of those soulmate things' jimin rolled his eyes. 'jungkook, when the time comes you will find them' jimin said 'after all, don't your strings connect or something when the other soulmate turns 21?' 'yeah. but i'm still 20. so maybe my soulmate is waiting for me, what do you know?' jimin just shrugged. 'okay jungkookie. i'll leave you alone for now' 'oh, jimin!' 'mhm?' 'can you tell taehyungie i invited him to my birthday party? i haven't seen him since like a few weeks ago. i feel like he keeps ignoring me' jimin froze, but played it off a second later. 'no, no, no... he isn't ignoring you' jungkook sighed in relief. 'school's killing him, he doesn't even time for himself. but i will ask him don't worry' 'thank you jiminie' and with that jimin left.
it was a month until jungkook's birthday, so he wanted to be prepared for anything and everything. i mean, what could possibly go wrong?
