Part Four: Keeping it Realistic

I'm sure you're rolling your eyes right now. You know how to be realistic and what can and can't happen. I mean, we all live in the same world, right?

Believe it or not, this a huge problem - and not just in fanfiction.

First of all, there are stories all around about "love at first sight" or meeting a One Direction at a cafe or supermarket. I think I've mentioned before, love at first sight is extremely rare and it is mostly infatuation. This is especially apparent when the first cause of it was physical attraction.

First of all, this is not a healthy relationship. Love thrives on equality and when the two people involved understand each other fully.

It's not equal when one half of the relationship frequently comments on the perfection and physical attractiveness of the other. They have to learn to accept that the other has flaws and appreciate them even more for it.

And, always commenting on what they did to deserve the other person? Of course, all people in a relationship feel like this to some extent, but the puppy-dog adoration that marks an typical fanfiction relationship is not just unhealthy, it's unrealistic and irritating.

Meeting One Direction is not an easy thing to do; they are surrounded by security. That's why it would be highly unlikely that they'd walk into a Starbucks, undisguised and with no security. Think about it: they're faces are plastered on multiple magazines and websites. If they stroll down the street all alone, no one's going to shrug and pretend they don't exist; instead, they'll be swarmed by fans and paparazzi. There's no logical way, they'll be able to walk down a common city street, much less order a coffee at a Starbucks for commoners.

I should know, my friends have analyzed this at every possible angle.

Of course, if they ARE foolish enough to go for a stroll unaided and are chased through the streets, cowering in a dark alley, they might meet your character there. But, what's your girl doing in a shady alley.

People are usually discouraged from lurking in alleys.

Remember, you need to have a reason for everything.

Yes, I know this is ridiculously short, but I have A LOT of homework. I might post up a part two in a few days or during the weekend.

I'm dedicating this chapter to xShe3Believes5x, one of my favorite writers on Wattpad. Go read Bandnapped and vote for it in the 1D Watty Awards!
