Finny’s eyes scanned over the horizon; pasting the gates outside the garden. Shielding his eyes from the sun, Finny could make out the small village located near the manor. Whenever he was allowed some free time; he would spend it helping out the villagers with difficult labor tasks. In fact; he was quite popular among them. After he was done they would often give him some food as thanks. It was modest unlike the fancy cuisine Mr. Sebastian prepares but still delicious none the less. Thinking back to Mr. Sebastian made Finny’s cheek grow warm. Lately whenever Finny comes in contact with him, his heart nearly jumps out of his chest!  He didn’t really ponder too much about it though. It must be his admiration for the young butler after all he thought. Without the young master or Mr. Sebastian he wouldn’t even be here; along with his newly made friends. He owed them both a tremendous amount of gratitude and for now; the young gardener was satisfied. “If it isn’t too busy today I would like to ask Mr. Sebastian for permission to go down the village if I may” He thought to himself.

“Stop day dreaming Finny and concentrate on trimming those bushes properly! Careful now you’re hacking off almost all of it.” Mey-Rin’s voice snapped Finny back to reality. “Waah! What have I done? Mr. Sebastian will kill me!” Finny steadily descended from the ladder. He made his way towards Mey-Rin as she was hanging the laundry. A summer’s breeze accompanied them during that afternoon outside the Phatomhive’s Garden. “Beautiful day isn’t Finny? I wouldn’t expect a single cloud in the sky.”

Finny nodded his head in agreement.

“Ah but lass haven’t ye heard? According to some of the villagers I hear a storms acoming at noon” Both Finnian and Mey-Rin turned their head at the same time. “Yo!” Coming out of the kitchen and heading towards them was Bardroy.

Turning back, Mey-Rin continued her work. “In that case, I’d better remember to bring the laundry in early.” Picking up the last bed sheet from the basket; she hanged it neatly with the other bed sheets and table cloths.

Finny greeted the rugged chef. “Mr. Bardroy, good afternoon”

“Hey kiddo” Bardroy ruffled the young Finnian’s hair and in progress, had disarranged his bobby pins. Finny didn’t seem bothered by it as he fix his hair. Mey-Rin picked up the empty laundry basket and the three headed back into the kitchen.

“Has the young master had his breakfast yet?” Mey-Rin asked while they went inside. Her back was facing them while cleaning the dishes.

“Yeah I just prepared it for him. Right now I’m taking a temporary break waiting for the pudding to bake in the oven.” Bardroy pulled out a wooden chair. He sat and took out a cigarette from his cigarette box and with it, he pulled out his lighter. He began taking out a magazine which, based on the scandalous cover; Finny found the containments inside questionable. He began flipping through the pages engrossed and totally unaware of a presence coming from behind him.

“Bardroy behind y-” Finny began to warn the poor chef of his doom when the butler motioned him to keep quiet while winking at the young gardener.

Thump Thump Thump!

 There it is again.

His heart beat accelerated in such a loud and wild pace that Finny thought he was going to have a cardiac arrest.  Finny blush a crimson red and complied.

“Hmm what was that Finny?” still unaware, and with his attention completely diverted to a page, Bardroy listened absentmindedly.

“Is that so? Then did you clean out the stove like I asked you to yesterday?” a voice came behind the sitting Bardroy.

Startled Bardroy jumped out of his seat. “Gahh! What the bloody h- Mr. Sebastian! Umm this isn’t what it looks like sir.” In a rush, He quickly hid the magazine away from sight along with his cigarette box and lighter.

“Mr. Sebastian?!” Surprised, Mey-Rin turned around from her work and standing there with them was the head butler of the Phatomhive manor; Mr. Sebastian Michaelis himself in the flesh. Accompanied behind him was the manor’s former head butler Tanaka.

“I’m sure it’s not Bardroy. By the way, what are you all doing here?”

“uhm well..” Mey-Rin began but stopped shortly when she couldn’t come up with an excuse under the Butler’s stern glare.

His eyes first focused on Finnian. “Finny have you finished weeding the court yard as I instructed you to this morning?”

“Ah! I forgot Mr. Sebastian” Finny said nervously.

The butler then turned to the young maid. “And Mey-Rin, I trusted you finished mopping the dining room floors?”

“Well about that Mr. Sebastian…” May-Rin began to fidget.

“And Bardroy I believe you still haven’t answered my question.” The butler’s eyes reached the chef.

“Che” Bardory looked down against the floor.

“And Mr. Tanaka!”

“Ho ho ho!” Tanaka sat in a corner with a cup, enjoying his tea.

“Nevermind stay as you are” said Sebastian.

“Now if you guys have time to loaf around then please do your jobs!” Sebastian said in an authoritative tone.

“Yes sir!” Finny, Mey-Rin and Bardroy dashed out of the kitchen at once. But as Finny turned back to meet the Butler’s eyes one last time, Sebastian smiled a knowing gaze at the gardener while winking him for the last time. Shocked Finny quickly turned around, embarrassed that he was caught; Finny finally managed to catch up with the other two, and together the three disappeared from Sebastian’s sight.
