A Life Before (The Prequel to the Hard Time Series)

NOTE* This story will only make sense if you have read, Hard Time, A Life Beyond, and a Life Deserved. It is a prequel and somewhat of a rewrite to Hard Time. Enjoy!

Long before Lena Adams was even a thought in Stef Fosters mind or world she lived a much different life. Far different then the life they lived after prison and even before her, Lena Adams and Callie Jacobs were released. It was a life far beyond a straight life, filled with crime, drugs, lies and violence. Something she tried so hard to shield her kids from but at times could be unsuccessful. For the most part she didn't mind what kind of life she led, not until later on, for she knew nothing else and wasn't interested as her and her best friend and sister, Roxy, did whatever they pleased with very little consequences. Stef could have as many girlfriends as she wanted and fuck whom she wanted and  her father didn't really care even at the young age of 13.  As long as she did what she was told in terms of his orders all was fine.

Her father, Frank, gave her money to spend on clothing, her hair, nails and makeup. He also got her a car and her and Roxy would often go joy riding while finding spots to drink and smoke pot into all hours of the night even if her father didn't care if she did it in the house. Often the two would pick up their girlfriends, and at times be a menace by stealing from candy stores, spray painting homes, and bashing windows of cars. Stef and Roxy were also known to harass girls in school, that is when they did go, and the blonde had the reputation of being a bully. Which she certainly was and many girls avoided her all together. The blonde had been suspended countless times for beating the shit out of anyone that looked at her funny, for ripping a girls hair out of her scalp for not giving her her lunch, for pushing a girl off a swing and breaking her nose when she made fun of Roxy and for stabbing a boy in the knees after he teased her brother. If she was honest most of the fights she got into were to protect herself and the people she loved. The other half was to assert her power, much like she would do in prison later on.  However, as the blonde got older her behavior only escalated and her father told her to quit school altogether which she did by the time she was 15. In her mind and his it was a waste of time and that was when she really began to be more involved with what her father did.

Having no mother around definitely affected the blonde and she was rather bitter that the women left when she was only 10. Not that she gave a shit, but what Stef did care about was her brother Mike. Mike, had tried so hard to shield his sister from what their father was doing but was rather unsuccessful. Even when he moved out and was accepted into the police academy he begged his sister to stop what she was doing and move in with him. However it was too late and he knew what path his sister was heading down, and there was nothing he could do to stop it. By the time she had her son Jude at age 22, Mike was hoping the blonde would get her life straight. But she did anything but that and it really broke her brother's heart for he loved his little sister and always would.

Now at the age of 28 a few things had changed in her life some she was not so proud of and neither was her father. For starters he was never happy that she had been dumb enough to get pregnant with Jude six years ago and as a result kicked her out. Afterwards she moved in with Roxy and little Raquel but since then had moved in with her long time girlfriend, Violet off and on. No they never really dated exclusively but more often then not just fucked.

"Here's my mother fucking question. Why are you even with that piece of shit Stef.  Knowing he beats your fucking ass." Roxy said as the two were playing poker and smoking weed. Maybe it wasn't the best choice considering their kids were in the next room but the women honesty didn't know any better as Stef took a puff and rolled her eyes. A few months ago she had hooked up with a guy that owned the strip club she was working at for extra money. Why? She had no idea but for one reason or another she started to have feelings.
