The world as he knew it was awash with flames. And the screams that followed were horrible, pleading to escape the anguish he had caused them. It reminded him of his mother, as she drowned in blazes of fire. He would lay awake at night thinking of his crimes, imagining the horror his mother went through. Her skin would boil and bubble. Her tears evaporating and fogging up her vision. Her anger. Her hate. How she would despise what he has become now. A Murderer. But this... this was worse. Thousands of screaming bodies awash with pain. The residents of New Rome killed, by him.
He didn't even remember what happen just him staring at the poor citizens as they burned. It was then that he knew this was all his fault. The blonde he had been with just gawked at him and ran off. But the way he stared at him broke his heart. He always knew he was a monster. When the bullies pushed him around on the playground. When Teresa littered his chest with scars and carved the word devil in to his back. When he burned down a foster home. But every time someone was scared of him, glaced at him with distaste, he felt his heart break because it reminded him he was always a freak, a monster, a demon. Always. He could never escape the cycle: no matter how hard he tried.
