T. W., slight panic attack, swear words

Dia never really liked parties. She would only ever go to one to either keep Ruby company or to supervise Mari's alcohol intake. She's had numerous occasions wherein Mari got convinced to do something, and if ever she succeeds, everyone else gets involved. But these days, Dia didn't care anymore. Ruby, although still a first year, is already capable of taking care of herself. Her redhead of a little sister made that very clear. And if there's Mari, there's Kanan, so why bother. Besides, it's not like her reputation as student council president will depend on whether or not Mari burnt the host's house down, not that it mattered anyway.

But Chika just had to make her latest disaster, also known as a party, sound very intruiging.

“Please, Dia? All nine of us, it's a once in a lifetime oppurtunity!” Ruby would've begged with puppy eyes but the last time she tried, Dia did the contrary of her expectations and didn't take her seriously so that was not an option. “I have already made up my mind,” Dia said, slightly ruffling her little sister's hair. “Besides, Kunikida-san is going, you will be fine.” She felt a little uncanny, allowing her sister to go to an event alone was something she never thought she'd do but here she is. Honestly, the endless possible scenarios the party had to offer just makes Dia want to vomit right then and there. And she really would've declined the offer, that is, until Ruby said something along the lines of--

“Hanamaru gets drunk easily. One time, she woke up in a floatie in Hikaru's pool. She didn't even remember how she got there in the first place!” Ruby laughed at the memory. She turned her head slightly to face her sister, who wore a face full of concern and uncertainity. “B-but you don't have to go if you really don't want to! I've told you many times before that I'm a big girl now and I gotta prove it!”

The read head stood up, putting two closed fists near her face. Dia relaxed, not realizing how tense she was. Her little sister's confident, happy smile always puts her at ease and is definitely the highlight of her day. “I'll do my Rubesty!”

It's just what she thought but worse. Gingerbread, alcohol, and quite possibly weed. And Chika assured her it was a “no alcohol party”. Yeah, I highly doubt that.

“I thought it'd be the nine of us though?” She overheard Kanan ask to the host upon arrival. Kanan is an extremely popular jock, taking the role of team leader for the track and swimming team. Everything about her is the definition of perfection, she could make any girl gay and any gay guy straight. And to top it all off, she isn't the cocky type as the new ones assumed she is. Dia hadn't realized she'd been staring at Kanan with an open mouth until she felt someone crash onto the couch next to her. She let out a quiet shriek, snapping her head towards the direction of the movement. It was Chika and Riko. Riko had seemed to notice Dia's distress and gave her an apologetic look before returning to the conversation with Chika. Dia sighed, slumping into the couch as she tried to calm her already heightened anxiety.

'Alright, if it gets unbearable, run to the bathroom. If ever it gets unbearable, run to th--'

“Hey, Riko?”

“Shoot.”

“Do you think You is gay?”

“...didn't you two make out an hour ago?”

“But what if she meaNT IT AS A FRIEND?”

She can't take this any longer, no. She considered her choices for a second and came up with a plan to hide in the bathroom until it's time to leave or until she hears a wasted Ruby through the door. She abruptly stood up and started charging towards one of the many bathrooms the popular cheerleader's house had to offer.

A mixture of Drake and drunk teen screams can be heard even from the second floor bathrooms. Apparently, they were having a round of spin the bottle and whoever the bottle lands on had to do seven minutes in heaven with another person in a different circle. Dia thanked herself for leaving as soon as she did or she would've been dragged into the madness. It surprised her, really, that none of the neighbors complained about the noise that came from the sea of drunk, underaged teenagers in one huge house. Maybe they were used to it?

Knock, knock, knock, knock

...oh fuck.

Of what seemed to be five of Chika's bathrooms, why did it have to be hers? The person on the other side of the door kept knocking and it gave Dia something she'd rather not have on the holidays: a panic attack.

The knocks were getting louder now and Dia practically jumped up from the bathtub where she used to lie down a few minutes go and reached for the sink. She threw some water on her face as she counted before inhaling and exhaling. Maybe she should open it? Give up her safe spot and move to another? Surely, no one would eve--

BanG! BanG! BanG! BanG!

A small squeak escaped Dia's lips as her breathing got more and more ragged. Talk about impatient. Can you really blame her for taking her time when she was about to lose it? She sighed, now calmer than she was before, and headed towards the door. She was about to turn the knob when she can't hear knocking anymore.
