The next morning, I woke up to the smell of pancakes. Mom was home that day so she made me breakfast and probably packed lunch for me. The pancakes were great. It had been a long time that I hadn't eaten anything home cooked by mom. She's a great cook but just didn't have time.
At school, I saw Kevin sitting right beside me in class. I tried to ignore him but he just kept on staring at me. Did he think I'd melt by his looks? Nah. Never. Or would I? Maybe I would if I hadn't seen him kissing Charissa.
"Hey I'm sorry I couldn't come yesterday", he told me as I took my seat.
I just ignored his question and him. I took out my homeworks so that someone would come ask for it. That way I would be busy and wouldn't have to try ignoring him.
"Are you mad at me?", he asked.
I just banged my books on the desk, ignoring him and at the same time, drawing homework victim's attention towards me. Unfortunately, no one wanted my notes that day.
"Umm... you okay Betsy? You're ignoring me", he stated confusedly.
"I don't think I wanna help you with notes anymore", I coldly said, staring at a distance.
"Look at me Betsy! It's not just about notes. What about our friendship? I don't want the notes. I just want to be your friend", he tried to shoot his mawkishness at me but I wasn't going to fall for his little tricks.
I just opened my book and started reading, using the book as a shield for me to avoid seeing his face. I didn't know what happened after that. The teacher came in and my full attention was on the class. I didn't bother to check him out. I didn't feel necessary to.
Lunch Break:-
I had brought home cooked food to school after a long time. I didn't know what mom made for me but I knew it would be delicious. She would make even the simplest dish into a gourmet food. That's why I absolutely loved her food. I opened my lunchbox and saw some rice caked. Okay. I didn't know my mom cooked Japanese too.~
I had one last rice cake left when Kevin came running through and started staring at my food. But this time, I didn't ask if he wanted to try. I just ignored the gaze and ate my food in silence. He looked at me eating the rice cake, hoping that I'd say something to him. But Mr. Cowboyhat didn't know that Ms. Applecherry could live without talking to a single person. That was my hidden talent. And he didn't know about it.
He called me so many times but I ignored. I had no choice. There was no point in falling for someone who loved someone else. I didn't want to break my heart loving him when he didn't even care about my feelings. Why would he care about a nerd when the hottest girl on school was his girlfriend.
~
Lunch break was over. Classes resumed and finally school was over. The class was empty. Just as I was about to get out of the class, Kevin blocked my way. He came closer and leaned towards me, carefully inspecting my face. What was wrong with him? He then tucked few strands of my hair behind my ear. I didn't protest or fight him off. I knew that he was just trying to make me speak. But I knew his trick so I just packed my bag silently and was just about to leave.
.
"I have a really big crush on you since middle school but you never noticed me", he broke the silence.

It may be a little late to update the next chapter. Maybe 3 days! Have patience please?
