As the bell rang through the halls of Cavanah High School, on June 15th, large clusters of teens swarmed out of the doors. The beds of trucks held students as they gathered in the parking lot to escape school that day. Blake has his arm around Noel, his little sister making sure none of the idiot guys in the lot snatch her away. They had to get to the lake, the whole gang would be there and he couldn't wait to see Jazz. Jazz was the kind of girl you hear songs about. When she walks in a room, her eyes capture you, once you've seen her, you never forget her. Blake begins to blush and Noel shakes her head.
¨How about we get you to the lake so you can actually look at her and not just think about her¨ she nudges her brother and opens the passenger door to his metallic blue truck.
¨Just keep your mouth shut, okay. Jazz can't know. I can risk our friendship like that. She's just so perfect Noel. I'm just happy I get the whole summer with her. I can't wait for late nights on the lake, early morning when she's half asleep on the stand, her hair blowing through the wind...¨ he starts the truck and pulls out of the lot and heads to the bathhouse at the lake. When he pulls up, he sees her. She and the rest of the gang. Bags in hand and whistles around their necks. ¨Now this is what I call a good group for saving some lives.¨ He hops out of the truth and grabs his bag from the bed. He smiles and walks to Jazz and she gives him a tight hug and he holds her a little longer than he normally would.
¨This is going to be the best summer of our lives!¨ jazz whispers in his ear as they let go of each other. She looks to Jamie and smirks.
Jamie and Blake walk up to the lock and Jamie fidgets with the key. He unlocks the door, moving towards the equipment and calls everyone to start loading their cars. They load up the first aid kits, rescue bouyes, rescue boards and so on. They then all head to the bathrooms and slip on their bathing suits and put on sunblock. Blake catches Jamie looking at him and laughs.
¨Hey bro, jealous of my new bod? Been working really hard this spring to look good this season.¨ Blake smirks and Jamie tries to hide the blush creeping up his neck.
¨Oh totally man, I mean, who wouldn't be. We should really hit the gym together though. You can give me a few pointers... Im really trying to impress this one person. But uh, you know I'm like way to chill to go by myself so i need someone pushing me through it.¨ Jamie laughs at himself and shakes his head, he turns toward the door and leaves.
Taiden and Noel headtoo gate one, Blake and Jazz too the middle gate, and Jamie and Jones head toward gate three. They set up and wait for people too head over. Now, here's the thing about their job at the lake. They either have noone on the beach or everyone in town comes all at once. There's very little parking, people refuse to buy beach badges, and parents don't watch their damn kids. But the best part is when no one comes to your gate , so you get too talk to your partner off stand until someone shows up or your shift is over. They set down their chairs and waited for anyone to too cometoo the beach and started talking about their plans for the night.
