You know that girl that you go to school with? You met her on your first day and never really spoke to her ever again? Maybe you'll nod to each other in the halls as you briskly pass by. Or maybe you sit together in science.

Well for me that girl was Abby James, the schools most popular girl. She wasn't one of those bitchy queen bees that ruled the school, she was a sweet and nurturing person who could talk to anyone.

Many girls envy'd her. Who wouldn't?

She came from a very rich family, the richest family in this whole town.

Well, we live in a small town, a quiet town, so innocent. It has your school, grocery shops, library's, diners, everything that a normal town would have.

But we had one thing that no other town didn't, the people here.

The people here from the outside are sweet, kind, and cheery. But everyone has secrets. Some big and some small but never the less, secrets. I wish I had known sooner how many secrets there actually were. Maybe if there wasn't as many secrets Abby wouldn't still be missing, maybe if there wasn't as much secrets we would still pass by each other and nod in the halls.

But some people just never change.

Hi, I'm Niamh. I know what your thinking, what? You name is Nee-a-mm-heh?

Ha nope. It's pronounced Neev. My parents gave me an Irish name. To say that I wasn't teased for my name would be a lie. But I got used to it. It was just teasing after all. Right?

Anyways, the name of my town is Lake Stoirm.

Storm Lake.

"Mom!"

I yell while rummaging through the pile of clothes in the corner of the room.

"What did you loose now?" She shouted up the stairs.

"I haven't lost anything! I just can't find it at this exact moment!"

Ugh, seriously? I definitely left it here last night.

"Help me find it at least!" I shout.

"I am not a metal detector!" She sips her coffee and slowly walks back into the kitchen.

Aha! Found it!

"NEVER MIND I FOUND IT"

I noisily bounce down the stairs and stuff my lost book into my bag and almost die from the weight. Jesus Mary and Holy saint Joseph.

I say bye to my mom and hop into the car.

Ok now it's time to collect Shauna.

BEEP BEEP

"Get in loser we're going to hell!" I shout as she walks out her door.

"You know you can just get out of the car and knock on the door like a normal person."

I roll my eyes. That's the most boring thing I've ever heard. Who needs their hearing anyway?

We pull up to the school and walk through the front gate.

"See ya at lunch?" I ask Shauna.

"You wish"

She walks up the stairs and I just laugh.

I sit down in English and take out my books. The teacher arrives and we get on with the lesson.

Half way through class the principle walks in. Ms. Grady.

"Good morning students. I'm afraid I have some truly tragic news to share."

She's got our attention now.

"Your fellow classmate, Abby James was reported missing late last night."

In less then half a second of her finishing her sentence the room is filled with whispers and conspiracy's.

"Missing?"

"What happened to her?"

"Do you think she's dead?"

Ok Jeez.

The teacher clears his throat and we all look up to the principle again.

"If you know anything related to the disappearance of Ms. James please report it to me or the Sheriff. Thank you, please continue your lesson."

I breath heavily. What happened to her?

"You can never tell anyone about this Niamh, do you understand?"

I hesitate, "Yes, I understand."

I feel like I'm gonna be sick.

Dia Duit!

First of all thank you so much for clicking and giving my story a chance it means the world! :)

Also I would like to say that none of the places that are mentioned in this movie are real places the same goes for the characters.

Some of the names and others things in the story might be spoken in Irish. It's where I'm from! So i will most likely be putting subtitles at the bottom if I ever decide to put it in but I probably won't aha.

I addressed this in the description of the story but the name Niamh is Irish and is not at all pronounced like it is spelled.

It's pronounced Neev.

Ok so I've cleared all that up 👍 enjoy! X
