Chapter 5

~The Next Morning~

Namjoon's POV
I wake up to the sound of my alarm ringing and sit up in bed. All the things that happened last night immediately coming back to me.

I pull my blanket off of my body and stand up to stretch. I stretch my arms and take my phone off the charger. I then turn off my alarm and turn on the lights. I walk over to my dresser and take out my uniform.

As I change my clothes, thoughts and questions about last night hit me. 

'Why did I get so mad last night?'

'Why did I punch Jin hyung? He only wanted to make sure Y/n wouldn't wake up.'

'Am I jealous?'

'Do I even like Y/n like that?'

'No, I can't be jealous. Y/n is just my friend, nothing less, nothing more. Especially not a lover either.'

Once I finish up changing my clothes, I grab my shoes and a pair of socks. I put them on. I then grab a hoodie from my closet and my backpack then leave my room after turning off the lights.

I walk over towards the living room and spot the maknae line except for Y/n sitting on the couch watching spongebob.

I then notice in the kitchen Jin was cooking pancakes for breakfast. I walk towards the kitchen and grab a bottle of water from the fridge.

"I need to talk to you hyung."

"About?"

"Y/n."

"What about Y/n?"

"Why do you like her?"

"Why do you want to know Namjoon?"

"Just tell me."

"Because....."

"Because what?"

Jin finishes up cooking the pancake he had on the pan and slides it on a stack of pancakes.

"Because she's perfect."

"Perfect how?"

"She is different from the other girls, she isn't fake like them, she's real. She is kind, generous,humorous, polite, caring, and so much more..."

Hearing Jin ramble about what he likes about Y/n makes my feelings confused. I never felt this way towards anyone before...I felt kind of...happy..light..and jealous I guess you could say..

'I guess I do like Y/n.'

"Why do you like her?"

"Same reasons as you I guess...She's always been there for me whenever I needed her. She always shows kindness and she cares about others very much. She puts others first before herself. She is a strong, intelligent, brave, selfless young lady. That's why."

"Guess we're rivals then..."

Hearing him say that caused excitement to rise within me, confidence as well. I wanted to be with Y/n and do romantic things with her more than anything else in the world...I would do anything just to have her to myself.

"Yeah...."

My thoughts rush through my head, thinking how far I was willing to go for Y/n. Just the thought of her made my heart ache...I longed to be with her...to cuddle with her..to hold her...to protect her. The single thought of her made me feel insane.
