Some lives were just more filled of funeral than everything else. It was a reality. Sitting on the church bench hearing people praising, all the black people were wearing, all the deep sorrow and sadness people were testifying, none of that could help make it easier and accept the fact that.....some were just attending more funerals than everything else in life.

His look was just empty. His face was just deprived from any expression. The tears stopped a while ago. But it wasn't showing that he was getting better. Matter of fact it was the whole opposite. His pain was getting bigger and bigger threatening him, his entire person. Life couldn't be that cruel right ? Because it clearly seems too. Or death was just stronger than everything else. She already took him his father, his mother, his grandmother. So hearing the pastor, praising God Decision was very hard to accept. He didn't want to be disrespectful tho. Mrs Ruby won't tolerate it. But this day was just keep being a torture. The last word finally been said and Derek watched the coffin. He didn't say anything, in a while. In days actually. He didn't want to address some words at the service. Neither at the cemetery. He just wanted this day to be over. This funeral to be over. What was left that death didn't take away from him ? The answer was right by his side. He could sense the warmth of her body who was so comforting. His only and unique reason to live. His dream. He grabbed her hand and felt the material of her ring, between their crossed fingertips, a mark of their recent union.

" Let's get the hell out of here" he whispered. It surprised her, it was the first words he said since days. Derek and his wife were the first to leave Ruby Jones funeral. He led them through the cemetery. Just like that, Derek and Alex walked away, from this funeral and from Atlanta.

2 MONTHS LATER

The light of the moon entered the master bedroom, lighting the dark of the night. The atmosphere was the least of Derek's interest. Because there was nothing sweeter and more delightful than getting pleased. The man deepens the kiss, his fingertips slide in the middle of her hair, backing her lips against his. Her all body waved above him, looking for a closest contact. Derek was hungry of desire, devasting urges. He could sense down on him, and so does she. She broke the kiss and look straight in his eyes

" Let me taste it" she teased, damn knowing what she was demanding

" Be my guest Olivia"

Alex woke up in a jump! It require couple second to her brain and emotions to come to her sense. To figure what was just happening. Where she was actually. Her heart was beating so fast that she thought it will escape from her chest. A small film of sweat covered her face. She looked next to her, Derek was still asleep, on his side of the bed, silently. It was just a dream. A whole motherfucking nightmare. It wasn't the first time it came to haunt the newest Mrs Jone. Matter of fact it was the third time this week. What this bitch done was even haunting her when she was wild awake. The thought of Olivia, with her man was giving all kind of different sensation to Alex. Anger, frustration and mostly....jealousy.

The wife moves closer to her man. She placed her legs between his and rested her upper body against his chest. The effect was immediate. There was her safe place. His scent. His body, the sound of his peaceful sleep, the regular and calm heartbeat was her favorite lullaby. Alex closed her eyes, ready to welcome the sleep again. Even unconsciously , Derek noticed the difference and instinctively he wrapped his arms around his woman, and breath in her hair. It had been difficult, and their lives were still an horror movie two months ago, but happiness was making a come back, step by step, in the smallest thing. The Jones were just getting used to be genuinely happy again. In peace. In their bubble of two. But after the next day....it was about to change

Every couple were having their own tradition. Little things who become rituals. The Jones were having the breakfast time. No matter how busy they could both be, the two lovebirds were making sure they were always having this specific time together. It was important to start the day with such a privileged moment with your soulmate. Not that Alex was capable to do anything in that kitchen, some time she was just trying. Not that morning tho. Derek put the strawberries on the table when he heard his wife descend the stairs. The sound of her heels against the floor sound loud. Who would have thought that Derek will be living in a mansion? Better yet....actually enjoy it.
