GINNY POV
It felt like he had been pacing for hours. She found herself watching him walk briskly from one end of their flat's kitchen to the other over and over again. Finally, she couldn't take it anymore.
"Harry, stop," she said softly, but still firmly enough that he froze midstep. She stood from her seat at the table and walked over to him, wrapping her arms around him. "You need to relax."
Harry sighed. "How can I relax, Gin? I mean, my parents..."
Ginny's chest constricted when she saw the pain in his eyes. Having your dead parents drop in on your wedding out of the blue would mess anyone up, but Harry, he had already been through so much. Everything he had been through had damaged him permanently, and this was just more stress he didn't need. As much as she knew he had always wanted this, it was just too much to have it happen like it had.
"I understand, Harry. I really do. But you can't torture yourself like this! You haven't eaten or slept in the past twenty-four hours!"
He shook his head. "How can I? How can I go on and act like nothing is different when everything is changed!" he shouted
Tears had started to form in Ginny's eyes. She very rarely cried, but this was beginning to be too much for her. First, her wedding was interrupted and her new husband completely detached from her, mentally and emotionally, and now they were fighting. She turned away from Harry, sitting once again at the table.
"Gin?" she heard Harry say cautiously as he came over to stand behind her, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Listen, Gin, I'm sorry. I'm don't mean to act this way. It's just a lot to take in..."
"I know," she said leaning back against him. Wiping her eyes, she stood. "I don't blame you, I don't blame anyone really, it's just not a very ideal situation."
Harry gave a short laugh, but she could hear the sadness in it. "That's one way to put it." Pulling away, he extended a hand to her. "So, I need to go talk to them, but I don't think I can do it alone," he said, a pleading look in his eye despite the light-hearted tone he used. She smiled and took his hand, pulling herself up.
"How could I pass up on this opportunity?" she said.

"James! He could be here any minute!" Lily snapped, pulling her husband away from an intense game of chess with Bill so they could wait in the sitting room.
"But Lily," he whined, "I was winning!"
She snorted. "We both know that's not true, you haven't won a game since you beat Sirius third year."
"Yeah, and Sirius was the best player!"
"You cheated! And you still only won by pure luck because his king misheard him!"
"Minor details!"
Lily pushed James back onto the sofa, sitting herself next to him and waiting impatiently for a knock at the door. Bill and Fleur came into the room, Bill holding the baby.
"They'll be here soon," Fleur said, noticing Lily's tense posture. Now that he didn't have chess to distract him, James was starting to panic too. This would be the first real conversation with their son. What had happened yesterday was more of a rushed introduction.
Just after Fleur spoke, there was a small hesitant tap on the door.

10 minutes previously
"Harry, honestly," Ginny sighed, exasperated. Harry had been putting off their leaving for almost half an hour now and she was getting impatient.
"I just want to make sure I look alright. Yesterday was one thing, but this is my real first impression on my mum and dad. I want..." he cut off, turning his head to hide his blush.
Ginny's expression softened. "You want them to be proud of you." He nodded and Ginny walked over to stand beside him, taking his hand. "They will be. How could they not? After everything you've been through-"
"But it isn't just that!" he interrupted, a note of panic in his voice. "What if they don't like me? Not just 'Harry Potter, The-Boy-Who-Lived, The Chosen One, Defeater of Voldemort' and whatever else people call me these days, but as Harry Potter, their son who is not extremely smart and doesn't know what he's doing half the time and who has made so many mistakes that have caused so many problems? What about that Harry Potter? Will they like him?"
Ginny reached up and put a hand on his face. After a moment she spoke. "I'll tell you who they'll like. They'll like not only those Harry Potters, but the Harry Potter who is loving and loyal to his friends. The one who is brave, the one who is reckless, the ones who are kind, funny, troubled, sarcastic, athletic, generous, and every other Harry there is. I guarantee that they'll love you. And I'm your wife now, so I'm always right." She gave him a wide grin, which he returned. He leaned down and kissed her.
"What would I do without you?" he whispered.
She shrugged. "You probably would have died a long time ago, to be perfectly honest." Harry laughed lightly, his spirits lifted. Ginny couldn't help but laugh as well, she was so happy to see his smile again after everything that had happened the day before. "So are you ready?" she finally asked him seriously, looking into his eyes.
He nodded. "Yeah, I think so. Let's go meet my parents."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bill rushed over to open the door. Lily held James' hand in a vice-like grip when she heard voices. Then Bill returned, Harry and Ginny trailing behind him.
(AN: You did your waiting! 10 months of it! For this chapter!
And it sucks. It's so short and it's such a filler I find it painful. I'm so sorry that after all of this time this is all I have brought you. I make no promises, but I will say I will TRY to update more often.
But anyway, ignoring my sucky updating, what did you guys think in general? I know there's a lot of mushy Hinny in here (gasp! i actually ship it? wat?) but I really felt like the Harry/Ginny relationship needed some recognition because, though I don't ship it as much as Jily, I still ship it, it's still canon, and it's still part of the story. And like I said, this was really filler but I wanted to get some of Harry's feelings on the situation brought up.
Question of the chapter (do you think this should start being a thing? no, that's not the question):
Do you ship Hinny? If not, who do you ship Harry and Ginny with? Answer in the comments!
I love you guys so so so much and I appreciate you guys putting up with my neglect of my stories. I couldn't have gotten this far as a fanfiction OR creative writer if it weren't for you guys and your support. Even if I don't always update very well, you guys have stuck with me and given me so much love in the comments.
Comment, vote, etc, etc.
Hugs and Butterfly Kisses<3!)
