What harm can us riding a taxi together do, I asked myself.

So, I climb in the car and shut the door, as he walks around and sits on the opposite side. Then, we are off. I guess he had told the taxi driver where he was going and he would be the one being dropped off first. That's probably what the conversation he had with the driver was about. Yeah, that's definitely what it was about. Hopefully, since he has practically forced me to take this taxi with him and hold me up a few minutes, he will be paying for both his ride, to his destination, and mine.

I've been sitting in this taxi for over five minutes and it's a little awkward. I don't know why but, I have nothing to say. This has never happened before, atleast not to me. Maybe, I should ask him about his day, but I don't really think I want to know. His eyes look dark and empty, as if he only feels pain. Why did I get in a taxi with this man?

I look over to see the man digging around in his bag for something. Finally, he pulls out a napkin. It was a really nice napkin, much like those that I remember from my aunts restaurant. It's exactly like the one I remeber from her restaurant, but it's probably just a coincidence so I won't think too much of it. He begins to unfold the napkin to reveal two cookies. The sweet smell of the cookies immediately takes over the taxi.

That smell is unique, these cookies could have only come from one place in this whole city. I know at once that the cookies this man is holding are from my aunt Jess's bakery. Now, I finally have something to talk about.

"Those cookies smell really good", I started," Did you get them from Jess's Bakery, her cookies are the best in the city"

"Why yes I did", He replied, "and they do in fact deserve that title"

"I know the owner of that bakery, actually that is my aunt"

"Oh, is that where you are headed to right now, the bakery"

"Well no, but I am going to her house"

"It must be nice having an aunt who is such a good cook"

"It is, but I was supposed to be at her house about...Hey, what time is it?"

"It is nine fourty-three" the man answers looking down at his watch.

"Well then about thirteen minutes ago."

I just realized that I never got this mans name. I've just been thinking of him as 'the man'. Since, we are riding in the same taxi we might as well get acquainted.

"Um, may I ask your name sir?"

"Do you want a cookie?"

That's not an answer but, I do want a cookie. If he doesn't want to tell me his name, then he doesn't have to tell me his name. It's not that important anyways because I doubt that we'll see each other again after today.

"I'd love a cookie", I cried in excitement.

He handed me a cookie, and at first I thought I'd savor it. After having it in my hand though, I couldn't hold back the urge to stuff the entire cookie in my mouth. The sweet and savory taste of the cookies began to take over me. I could also taste something else, but I couldn't quite identify it.

My eyes began to get heavy. This isn't usually the effect that the cookie has on me. I look up at the man to see him smiling down at me. I start to say something but, my mouth won't open. I can't move any of my limbs either. Maybe this man poisoned me. This could be my last moments of life. But, I don't want to die, I'm too young.

I stare at the man trying to keep my eyes open, seeing as that is the only thing I can do. I soon feel a wet substance on my face. It's tears. I was so focused on keeping my eyes open that I hadn't realized that I was crying.

"Calm down", the man speaks at-last, "You're not going to die, just let go"

"Oh yeah, and by the way, my name is Tyler, Tyler Gamore"

And with that, my eyes closed and I retreated into the darkness of unconsciousness.

Sorry, I know I take forever to update. It's summer now though so I might use some of that extra time on atleast building a plot. Because who needs swimming or the sun. Hope you have a fun summer, I know I will. Be blessed!
