"....Your Honour—"

A door was slammed hard that time, probably hitting a rock or what, it caught everyone's attention except one person who facepalming himself. Jihoon was there, regretting everything when he realised the case would stay a little longer than he expected before, then now he understood; sometimes the interruption was inevitable at the court. He escaped from the room and exhaled a fresh air but soon later, he had to come back to his office, dealing with cases—or most likely dealing with two problematic assistants on his own.

It was his daily routine since 4 years ago. When he was bored and really wanted to run away from his piled-up cases, he would run to the nearby convenience store and eat kimbap or drinking his cola while staring blankly at the street. In other situation, he would run to the court, seeking an opened trial and sat while using his brain as he analysed the progress. But today, he needed to come back faster than he usually did because of the sudden interruption. In that case, he would finish his tasks half-heartedly and go back home earlier than his assistants or letting himself to be dragged out by them.

Fishing out his phone, he got a message from the small group of his own. Giggling at the content, he typed down the reply and went back to his office cheerfully. Totally—in a second, he was changed drastically.

"...oh," the door cracked open, "hello..."

Two males gasped in horror and instantly got back to their seats, fingers were busy to close the tabs and hide the phone under the table.

"...so, basically—you do a game at office hour, instead of having lunch and seeking the things I ask to you today?" Jihoon glared at them, deadpanned at his saying.

The taller one kicked the smaller one slightly by his feet, signalled to be quick but Jihoon was faster than them, taking his seat and started working, naturally, he ignored their existence at the moment. Piling up again the document before him, then Jihoon logged into his working mode. Not even getting bothered by two pair of eyes who looking fixedly at him, nor by the loudness from the next office room who had karaoke at the lunchtime.

His fellow colleagues were odd. So he was.

"Mr Lee, regarding the investigation of Chatham companies, a lot of data are lost and also deleted overnight. In fact, some parties involved in cases of embezzlement of money are also not tracked."

Jihoon furrowed his brow. " So you mean..."

"I think the inside is also moving to prevent you from investigating further." His assistant was clasping his hand tight, being nervous in case the man would rant at him because of his lack.

But, Jihoon nodded, glanced towards the one who busies fixing his eyes at the monitor. He sighed.

"Detective Jeon, please crack down on the company's server access as soon as possible, at least tonight 75% of what's missing is in your hands. I can't let anyone win in this case."

The man nodded his head, urgently grabbing his stuff and flew out of the room.

"Prosecutor Lee..."

Jihoon hummed at him.

"Can you call Inspector Choi to help you with the matter?"

Inspector Choi. Inspector Choi. It had been forever which he never heard a name unexpectedly slipped out from his colleague. He lifted his face, staring sharply at the man who standing straight before his desk. For a moment, he thought where the man mustered his courage to blurt out like that.
