I said bye to all of my dance friends and walked outside into the cool September air. I started looking for my mom, and couldn't find her. I panicked and grabbed my phone out of my bag. No messages, except for one from my boyfriend, Cole.
"hey! Party at my house 2mrw night! You in? Love ya😘"
I smiled. Of course I would be going.
"Heyy❤️ya I'll be there!"
I turned my phone off and waited for my mom. After what seemed 5 days, she pulled up in front of the door. I slammed the door closed and stared at her.
"Where were you? My class ended half and hour ago and look how late you are! It's like you don't even care about me!" I start crying. This happenes every Thursday night with her. Where even is she. She looked at me with that guilty mom face.
"Oh dear, I'm very sorry. I've been a terrible mother lately, and I need to get it together. I hope you can forgive me." She says, with tears forming around her eyes.
"It's fine, mom." I say. That's practically all I say to her. She's too busy apologizing for being a terrible mother that that's all the words I can resort to now. We sit in silence. I decide to bring up Cole's party tomorrow.
"Hey mom, so Cole invited me to a party tomorrow, I can go, right?" She gave me a look where I knew that something conflicted with that.
"I'm sorry dear but I have a surprise planned for tomorrow in the early evening and then we will watch a movie at home." She whispered. I grumble an "It's fine" and out my phone. I got another text from Cole.
"Alright!see ya there bae😍😘"
I smiled. He always knew how to compliment me.
"Cole do you mind picking me up around ten?? My mom planned something and she will prob be asleep by then so..."
