chapter 1

Brooke's POV
Today is the beginning of my last semester of high school... I am looking toward to going to UCLA with my best friends, but I will definitely miss seeing my crush Austin. I have had a crush on him since my Freshman year. Every school year, he ends up in at least one of my classes, but this year, I have every single class with him. He doesn't know I exist is the sad part. I'm just a geeky music nerd who has a crush on a boy who doesn't even know I exist. I would talk to him, but most of the time he is hanging out with his friends Nick and Brandon.
I walk to first period advanced modern US History with my best friends Elizabeth and Brittany.
"So B" said Elizabeth
"Are you gonna talk to Austin?"
"No" I said
I keep telling y'all he wouldn't want a weirdo like me talking to him.
"Quit saying that" said Brittany.
"You have one semester left, Brooke" and you may never see him again.
"You know what you are right, I said" "fuck it I'm talking to him"
I said that kind of loud and Nick and Brandon heard it.
I held my head down and walked to my seat. Brittany and Elizabeth sat with Nick and Brandon.
"Hey, is your name Brooke?" asked Nick
"Yeah it is" I said
"Okay I just needed to know.. I think you are beautiful" he screamed loudly as Austin walked in the door. I blushed and said thanks to Nick but all I could focus on was Austin. There were no empty seats left, except for the one next to me.
So for the first time ever, Austin was sitting beside me. Before mr Jones walked into class, Nick handed me a note that said "text me with a winky face" I laughed and stuffed the note in my pocket. I noticed Austin dropped something out of his notebook. I picked it up and it looked like a sketchbook. When I picked up the sketchbook, I noticed his artwork and it was absolutely amazing. I said "hey Austin I think you dropped this" I said
He looked at me with his cheeky grin and said "thank you so much love". When he said those words my heart felt like it was going to explode out of my chest. Mr Jones walked in and announced that we would be working on a huge project for the rest of the year. Nick raised his hand and goes "Mr. Jones,  can I please be partners with Brooke? She is the smartest and prettiest girl in this class". Mr Jones laughed and said "No Mr. Mara, she is partners with Mr Porter for this project."
I heard a loud Damnit from behind me. I shook my head and laughed. Mr Jones gave us the rest of the class period to talk to our partners about are project. Austin and I actually have a lot in common. We both decided to do our project on the Ted Bundy murders. Before the bell rung, Austin asked if he could have my number. I blushed and gave it to him. He texted me as soon as the bell rang and said. "I'm super stoked we are partners in class. Wanna have lunch today? I smiled and texted him back and said to meet me under the tulip tree in the schoolyard. He texted me back and said of course love.
