jungkook didn't know what to say, so he stared at taehyung confused.
"y-you're joking... right?" he spoke up, eventually. his words breathy, the last one hardly even there. but the painful silence of the room meant taehyung picked the word up.
he smiled, painfully... sadly. "no." he whispered as the first tear dropped down his face.
jungkook didn't react, he just blanked. eyes wide, mouth open... blank.
inside however... he felt his world crashing down. like a broken roller coaster that had been rode one-too-many times, the tracks came crashing down, into the pit of his empty stomach... suddenly he wasn't hungry anymore."w-why..." he didn't want to ask. he really didn't. but, he knew he had too.
it was to good to be true, wasn't it?
the happiness he felt being with the one he loved, it was too good to be true.
just when everything was going well...
jungkook bit his lip, the pain bringing him back into the reality of the situation.
"m-my father... he found out." taehyung choked up, that sentence proving to be difficult to say.
jungkook emitted a short gasp, the breath causing pain in his chest... it wasn't the only thing causing the pain however.
"he was going to fire your father-" taehyung started saying, only to be cut short by jungkook.
"no!" he shrieked, shaking his head. that alone would break everything he loves, his new home, his new friends... taehyung. moreover, his father adored this job! jungkooks irresponsible actions shouldn't be the reason his father is made redundant.
taehyung chuckled a little, just at jungkooks cute response.
"i begged him not too, your father is safe." taehyung said with a weak smile.
"oh thank god." jungkook breathed out.
"as for us... we can't be together anymore."
jungkooks eyes watered at those words, he looked up at taehyung through his thick, now watery eyelashes.
taehyungs heart stung, it sank, burst into a million pieces.
"tae... i-i... i can't lose you!" jungkook burst into tears, throwing his body down onto the bed, his legs still crossed. the position hurt like hell, but as of now... it was the least of jungkooks problems.
taehyungs tear ducts burst at the sight, seeing his angel jungkook sobbing into his warm duvet covers, it broke his heart.
taehyung let out a sob, "i... i know. i don't want to lose you either, but my father..." his words didn't make much sense, his choked up voice strangling the words he was trying to say.
jungkook picked up on the basis of taehyungs words, he understood where he was coming from though, knowing he would do the same.
"i know." jungkook replied, his voice quiet.
"i don't think i'm ready to say goodbye..." jungkook said as he stood up from the bed, one hand wiping his eyes that constantly made fresh tears the other hand wrapped around his left arm, moving his hand up and down the arm trying to warm his body up, the cold, eerie room, was unpleasant making jungkook shiver.
taehyung breathed out, "i'll never be ready."
they both stood in silence, just letting the tears flow freely from their eyes.
a car was heard, pulling up the long pebbly drive way. jungkooks father.
jungkook had to leave.
he ran to taehyung, pulling him into their last hug. it was sad, hurting both males. how could they possibly recover from this? the heartbreak of losing a soulmate.
"goodbye kim taehyung..." jungkook whispers in taehyungs ear, leaving one last lingering kiss on taehyungs right cheek.
he collected his belongings, stuffed them in his backpack and headed to the window waiting for the ladder to be set up.
meanwhile, taehyung stood frozen, watching jungkook pack his bag and get ready to leave. he couldn't handle the pain he felt inside, it was if he felt his heart breaking in two, one half -the half that belonged to jungkook- trying to break free from taehyungs body and run to jungkook not letting him leave.
the ladder was placed, giving one last painful look in taehyungs direction, jungkook opened the window and climbed down, each step harder to take than the last.
once on the ground, jungkook ran, ran right to the car. not letting his father see him, it can wait till home. he needed time to cry.
and jungkook was gone. like the wind took him, as he was stepping out the window.
"goodbye, jeon jungkook." taehyung whispers. wishing to feel the boy in front of him.
as if jungkook carried his happiness (which he did) the happiness was gone too. all was left... the old stone cold taehyung.
he sighed, still feeling the tears fall.
all while this happened, taehyungs father stood by the door, listening to the whole event. he felt immensely guilty, but it had to be done. to protect taehyung... that's what he told himself anyway.
it was for taehyungs own good...
