Small feet snuck down a dark hall. These feet belonged to the young princess. Princess Grace heard voices a little further down and quickly ducked into the closest room. This room was the servant's kitchen. She took a deep breath. Then held the air in so whoever was passing wouldn't hear her.

This was her tenth attempt. If she couldn't sneak out now she realized she probably never could. She just wanted some freedom. Being a princess was difficult. Very difficult. There were just about a hundred rules she had to follow. Rules that, as far as she knew, no one else had.

I understand everyone's concerns but it's not like I'm actually leaving palace grounds, I just want to go to the gardens unsupervised. I-

"Hello?" Grace heard someone say. She could hear footsteps coming closer, she dropped to the floor near a wall in an attempt hide. "Is anyone here?" Grace looked around to find a way to escape the room without whoever was in the room noticing her. As far as she could tell... there was no way she could get out of this. "Hi." Princess Grace heard a high pitched voice say in front of her. She hesitantly looked up from the ground she was crouched on to find two big beautiful brown eyes staring into her blue ones.

A young boy was standing in front of her. He had light brown hair, the color of milk chocolate. He appeared to be around her age, six or seven. He reached out a hand, "Want some help up?" he asked with a tired expression. Almost as if he was on autopilot.

She looked at him for a minute. A confused look forming on her face. "Sure... um... why would you just offer me help up? You don't know me. I could be an intruder," She inquired. She pinched the sides of her long pink dress, after standing. She was maybe an inch taller than him.

"Well... you're not. You're the princess." the boy responded with a yawn.

"How did you know that?" The princess asked, taking an instinctive step towards the door.

"It's really easy to tell, you're famous, and I work here. I've seen you before... wow you're kinda dumb if you couldn't put that together.." The boy said.

"You work here?" The young princess suddenly got an idea, "So... that means you know your way around this place right? Like... ways most people won't know?"

"Like the secret passages?" The boy asked.

"Yeah!" the princess said with a pointed finger, "Tell me about that!"

The boy gave her a perplexed look then chuckled at her antics. He then scratched his head. " How about later? It's one in the morning and I'm tired."

She sighed,"Fine. Meet me here at nine tomorrow night to show me around." The princess turned on her heals and walked towards the door but stopped. She looked over her shoulder, "What's your name?"

     "William." The boy said.

"Goodnight William!" the princess said as she ran off brown hair flowing behind her. She didn't care if she got caught. Tomorrow she would be able to accomplish her goal. Despite Princess Grace's problems being solved, someone else felt much more confused than when they entered that conversation. He was to tired care about all his questions at the time, but by the time the two children met the next day the princess had to answer 22 questions before even starting the tour.
