"Hey! Signal!" Pietro shouted. Everyone, except Clint, scrambled over. Even Natasha deserted her post, seeing that Clint was handling the jet fine alone.
"We must be getting closer. The signal's stronger." Tony began working, his hands flying as he recited techy phrases nobody but Bruce understood. Suddenly he stopped. "It's gone...circle back! It must be bouncing off something, so it's limited!" Clint put the jet into a turn, and began circling over the area they had a signal. Tony worked frantically. He finally pinpointed where the signal was coming from. Hastily, he gave Clint the heading. The jet leaned into a hard turn as the afterburners ignited. The wings quivering at the forces pulling on them. The team slid across the cabin as the floor tilted dramatically beneath them.
"Clint!"
"Too bad!" he yelled back, "That wasn't even one G!"
Natasha scurried back to her seat, pulling on the headset that allowed her to talk to only Clint. They flew in silence for a few minutes before Natasha leaned forward in her seat.
"Is that....?"
Clint peered into the distance, then nodded. "Yep, looks like it." In an unbelievable short time they were over it. Seeing as everyone in back had only one window, and they were clustered around the computer anyway, none noticed the battlefield.
"Whoa...." Natasha drew in a deep breath, gazing over the scene before her. She turned in her seat, shouting above the plane's noise. "Hey, guys? I think we mighta found something!"
"You think?" Clint scoffed, putting the jet in a tight circle. "I know. What a smashing fight! Too bad we missed it."
Natasha reached over to jab Clint, "I doubt we missed anything. I'm glad I wasn't in the middle of that melee." she hesitated, eying the guns, bodies and wrecked ground strewn over the large area, "Well, maybe it woulda been interesting to watch." By that time, most of the team had managed to edge together in the small space in order to gawk down at the ground.
"This the place the signal leads?" Clint asked, letting the aircraft do lazy circles.
Tony hurried back to his computer, directing the archer-turned-pilot further north. Bruce padded over to his computer, checking in on the signal on the TT.
Clint's voice suddenly came over the comms. "We, uh... seems to have a little, umm... problem at... uh, twelve o'clock."
Bruce drifted over to the small window, peeping out. Tony didn't move from his technology. "What kind of problem?"
"An, uh.. explosive one?"
At that, Tony jumped up, hurrying forward. "What the...." He whispered.
"Language." Steve whispered back.
"Looks like somebody got mad at somebody else and started throwing nuclear grenades." Bruce helpfully described the scene.
"No, I think we found a HYDRA base...." Clint trailed off. He kept away from the explosion, letting it do its thing on the horizon. "Also, I think something happened to that particular HYDRA base. It looks like an anthill erupting."
********(before, from Eloyse pov)***********
It was her. She was fighting against her own friends, withholding nothing. Without a second thought, she used her full capabilities against her friends to win for HYDRA.
Eloyse shook her head, trying to clear her mind of the vision. She stood up and began pacing. Another flash of the future, another warning. Her steps became more hasty. They were attempting to clear her memory twice a day, and failing, but she could feel she was weakening. She sat down, resting her arms on her knees and covered her eyes with her palms.
