Agents of Chaos

1 The Beginning of the Horror

Wolf talked over the mission to his team one last time as the chopper neared the drop off point. They were to go in and take out any hostiles on the way to the location of the hostage, the hostage being a high ranking official's daughter. Her name was Emily and she was kidnapped on her way to school, her body guards were dispatched without a single bullet being fired. As Wolf pointed at the possible entry points he let his gaze fall over his team.

His gaze fell upon Badger first. At Five feet she was the smallest operative on his team, her temper was only rivaled by her strength and speed. Despite her size she had been known to go all out with the likes of Jack who easily towered over the entire team. She wore a black combat vest over a low-class bullet proof shirt, her weapon of choice was a DDM4 V7P and a handful of tactical knives. She was recruited after following one of the agency's shadowing agents who when he lost her found himself face to face with a shotgun and a pissed off Badger.

His gaze went from her to Jack who sat beside her, tinkering with some new explosive device. Jack at 6'6 was the tallest person on the team and was built like a tank, with incredible strength and the ability to walk off most blows he was the perfect front man. His best skills were with explosives, he had been messing with them since a young age, always blowing something up. Now he was blowing up entrances and making special explosives for himself. Armed with a LMG, a gas mask and a tactical vest he was almost a one man army.

Beside him sat their medic, her gaze on a green substance in a syringe. At 5'7 and built like a tree she wasn't much to look at, but Honey Wasp was an incredible medic ready to jump into the fray to save her teammates though her bedside manner was not the best. Usually forgoing pain medicine until she felt it was truly necessary, even as she was snapping bone back into place and extracting bullets. She had a light combat vest over her usual attire and a handgun with illegal parts that made it much faster to fire and reload.

Wolf sighed as he thought of his own training, having done so many missions solo that he had acquired the name "The Lone Wolf". He was a master of hand to hand combat and had a jack of all trades and master of none with guns. He found himself wielding whatever weapon was best for the situation, often taking up weapons from the enemies he had eliminated. He was covered in light black combat armor with a gas mask across his face, a hand gun was at his side and on his other side was a large combat knife.

He glanced over the side of the helicopter and stared at the large abandoned building they were to enter. Once a hospital it had closed down when it was found that the hospital staff were doing horrible things to the patients, experiments, torture were a couple of the things they had done. Wolf stared down at a small helicopter landing spot before nodding to his team.

"I'm going to head in ahead and scout the place out." With those brief words that were slightly muffled by his gas mask he jumped out of the helicopter, rolling into his landing and coming onto his feet as he made his way into the building.

"Always has to go it alone," Jack commented as he put the explosive device into his pack. "One of these days he going to get injured again." It was as he said this that he noticed Badger readying to jump after their leader and with a large arm thick as a tree branch he grabbed her by the back of her shirt.

"What do you think you are doing?" He lifted her easily off the floor of the helicopter and couldn't help but grin as she turned to glare at him. He dropped her down as she slowly pulled one of the blades from her belt, standing at her full height and glaring up at him.

"I'm going after him," She sneered. "Last time he went alone he nearly got killed, so unless you want to take him home in a body bag I suggest you let me go." Her green eyes held a fiery challenge in them that if was any other time Jack would have happily taken.

"Let her go." They both glanced over in surprise as  Honey Wasp waved a hand in response to their looks as if to say its whatever. "She'll just bitch and moan if we don't." Her words cut even deeper by the lack of emotion in her voice. Badger growled but merely nodded knowing what a bad idea it would be to fight the medic and turning towards where Wolf had gone jumped swiftly after him, copying his roll as she followed him.

In the helicopter Jack shoved a couple more clips into his various pockets and nodded toward Honey Wasp as the helicopter hovered several feet off the ground, together they jumped down and ran to the large front doors of the hospital where after a quick nod from Honey Wasp, Jack knocked it down. The door hit with a loud thump, alerting anyone that was close that they had company, the inside of the hospital was pitch black and as Jack glanced around looked as if it hadn't been entered in years. Pulling out his phone he noted the tracker said the hostage was towards the middle of the hospital. Honey Wasp turned on her flashlight that was attached to her pistol and followed Jack as she lit the way for him.

Several floors above them Wolf was following a set of boot prints, frowning as he noted they entered the air duct. How in the hell...he wondered as a sudden crashing of metal against the hard floor made him turn around. In front of him stood would looked like a patient judging by the light blue gown that he wore, but the sickly pale color of his skin and the way his skin hung almost limply to his bone showed that the man was incredibly sick. Wolf put his gun away and slowly stepped towards the man, still unsure if it was a friendly. Suddenly the mans right arm shot out in a speed that Wolf couldn't have completely comprehended as he was flung across the room, slamming into wall with a thud and a grunt.

Jumping up onto his feet Wolf shook the surprise from himself as the man shambled towards him, his eyes in the light of Wolf's fallen flashlight seemingly a deep dark red. Wolf ran towards him and threw out several punches in places that would have incapacitated a much larger man, but seemed to have no effect on the creature in front of him. Finally Wolf grabbed the man's head and snapped his neck in one swift movement. He found himself breathing hard as the man finally crumpled to the floor and turned as Badger rounded the corner.

"Badger? What are you doing her-" He cut off as he heard bones cracking and turned back to the man who had somehow resnapped his neck into place and suddenly began throwing out punches, several of which Wolf deflected or dodged but finally one hit him in the throat and then twice in the ribs, knocking the breath out him. He felt its hands around his throat and realized what was happening. It had copied his movements and now was going to snap his neck just as he had done. Before the creature could twist its bony hands its head exploded, blood splashing over Wolf's face as the body yet again fell away.

Wolf turned to Badger who had slowly set her gun down and let it hang by her side. "What the hell was that thing?"
