Chapter 2

Rose's POV :

Minutes later I rush into the hospital waiting room, panicking if my mom is going to be okay.

My mom gets wheeled away quickly by nurses and doctors. More doctors rush in to help. A handful of nurses were clearing the way for my mom to get through.

" Is my mom going to be ok " I say, but the staff keep moving and ignore me chatting with themselves.

I barely comprehend what they're saying though.

I get really frustrated and yell at them asking them if my mother is ok but all they do ignore me and keep talking .

The security guard gives me a mad look to signal me to sit down .

I went to go and sit down patiently feeling sad and helpless. I think about what that mark was on her wrist .

After sitting down for seemingly hours the doctor comes to me in a casual way .

" Are you Rose by chance ? " he says in a casual voice .

" Yes !, Is my mother okay ? I say almost in a demanding way starting to panic again.

" We'll get to that. First off my name is Zachary I'm your mom's attending physician."

"Your mom was unconscious for several hours, so we have to run a few test. " he says very concerned.

" Now if you don't mind I need to ask you a few questions. "

" Does your mom have any medical conditions we should know about ? "

" She has back problems every now and then from a car wreck. " I hesitate to say.

" Do you know how long ago was that ? " Zachary says .

" Um.." , say as I try to remember. " Years ago when I was a baby. "

"Thanks it's probably not really related but thank you anyway it's good to know " Zachary says in a cheerful way.

" If you need anything else just ask the nurse in the front to come any find me. Your mom is my top priority. "

As I take my same seat back , I start to tear up but then realize that I think my mom is in good hands.

He gives me one more soft smile then leaves tucking his clipboard under his arm.

" Ughh, I totally forgot to text Milia and Anna to let them know that I might not be at my house for the rest of the week, " I thought.

I pull out my phone and start texting on the group chat ( Milia, Anna, and Me ).

I started to text in more detail but my friends had already texted back .

M- WAIT WHAT ? I'M COMING WHICH HOSPITAL R U AT ?

A- What happened your mom was fine when we last checked up on her ( which wasn't that long ).

Me- I have no idea, I found her out cold on the kitchen floor when I came home. I'm at the Medical East Hospital.

Both- Ok we're coming bye.

Once I stop text I sigh panicked and then fall asleep from so much exhaustion I 've had over the past day . ( yes I fell asleep in the Hospital it late and I was tired )

When finally I wake up from sleeping to long ( lol )
I notice someone is staring at me oddly.

I gaze at him wondering if I know him when I catch my self staring awkwardly at him . He clears his throat about to say something when I look away.

" Hello I can't help but overhear that your mother quite ill " he says in a friendly voice.

" Ummm , hi " I say, starting to question myself as to why I'm answering him.

" My name is Rose ." I say trying not to act suspicious.

" Oh, sorry let me introduce myself my name is Dean."

" Oh are you here for someone in the hospital too? "

" No, but I know what your going through ...... at least to some extent " Dean says feeling sympathy for me .

I see his eyes go a little teary eyed.

I look down for a bit at the floor.
Omg this is getting so awkward , I think in my head .

I look down at the floor for a bit trying to think of something to say to try and lighten the mood .
Got it - I say in my head from excitement.
I found a line to say to this guy to lighten the mood lol .

I look back up to see if Dean is still there but all I see are nurses and and patients.

Huh , where did he go . He just vanished .

I look around for Dean but see him nowhere.

Where could he have gone???

I check my phone as I start to text my " good friends " for being here . But then I hear Anna shouting from the end of the hallway.

ROSE WHERE ARE YOU!!! I NEED YOU ASAP !!!!!
ITS AN EMERGENCY!!!

She shouted so loud the surgeons from the surgeon room came out.

" Ughhhhhh, what is she yelling about, and why is she so loud the whole building can here her. " I murmur to myself.

Then everyone turns to look at me .

Ughh this day couldn't get any worse.

As I rush to Anna wondering what the heck she's shouting out at me for she seems so scared and her hands are trembling.

" OMG there you are you have to come quick . It's about Milia she had a CAR ACCIDENT !!!! " She says panicking in fear.

My heart drops when I hear those words.
