Chardae .
"In the darkest night hour. I'll search through the crowd. Your face is all that I see, I'll give you everything. Baby love me lights out, Baby love me lights out, You can turn my lights out."•••
"Char, you mind taking that call on behalf of your husband?" Andrea, Jayson's personal assistant asked. "You know him better than I do,"Chardae took a minute to think about whether or not taking this important business call would be wise, and whether or not her husband would be upset with her.
"I'll take it," Chardae smiled as Andrea handed her the phone before shooting her a thumbs up.
She was nervous internally but refused to show it externally as it would make things worse on her half.
"Hello, Mr. Braxton." She stuttered, trying to plaster the most assuring smile and professional face she could throw together.
"Yes, is this Mr. Thompson?"
"No sir, this is his wife Chardae Thompson taking this call on behalf of him as he and his assistant could not be present today for the call as they're attending a meeting." She smiled, convincing herself that she was prepared to make the biggest decision for Jayson and his million dollar firm.
"Okay then, let's get straight down to business." He cleared his throat. "We would like to buy the estate for 5 million dollars."
She furrowed her eyebrows in pure dissatisfaction. "I'm sorry, repeat your offer for me one more time."
"I, Tommy Braxton wants to buy the spark a dream estate for 5 million dollars." He repeated, only this time raising his voice.
"With all do respect sir, as we do appreciate the fact that you see something in this business we cannot accept your offer as it is merely unacceptable." She declined. "The spark a dream organization has built itself on being an independent estate for the last 4 years and has done extremely well as such. I appreciate your call and thank you for your time, enjoy the rest of your day."
She hung up the phone and let out a breath that she didn't even know she was holding. She rubbed her sweaty palms against her skirt and looked at the overview of the city from the penthouse.
She was afraid of exactly how Jayson would react to the news of her turning down an offer from one of the most successful business men of their time.
Though she knew Mr. Braxton could help the business succeed even more, it just didn't feel right to her. She couldn't imagine handing over a business that she saw her boyfriend work so hard to start and pick up off the ground.
