Chapter 7

Adonis

I was running late to class. I'm normally on time or early but I had to deal with pack matters this morning. I was walking to economics when I saw her. The most beautiful girl I have ever seen but it wasn't even like that. She had ignited something in my wolf and me. Before I could stop myself I felt my wolf jump out and I grabbed her.

She looked at my with these big brown eyes and yanked her arm back. She continued to walk without looking back. I was internally freaking out; I wanted to touch her again.

"Wait up I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you, I thought... you were someone I knew."

That was the only excuse I could think of. She mumbled something, but continued to walk.

I chased after her while I could hear my wolf yelling at me, Find mate. Get to mate.

She turned around and I was standing over her again. "Are you lost or running from me?"

"Just lost," She responded refusing to make eye contact with me. It took every inch of me not to grab her face so I could admire her beauty further.

I grabbed the piece of paper out of her hand to discover a schedule. My wolf jumped in happiness when I saw that we had Economics together.

"You're new here? Where did you transfer from?" I asked eagerly.

"A small town in Michigan. I appreciate your help but I can find my class myself," she responded quietly.

"We are going to the same place! Don't worry about it!" I hope I didn't sound too excited.

I asked her various questions and she just mumbled yes and no. I know she must be nervous on her first day, but with my mate so close it's hard to contain my excitement.

"What's your name?" I asked her.

"Megan... and yours?"

"Adonis," I tell her as I open the door for her.

"You can sit over here," I motion to an area where my friends and I sit.

"It's fine. Thanks for helping me find the class," she responds and finds an empty seat at the opposite side of the room.

I want to go after her again and insist she sit by me, but I need to remember not to scare her away... again.

I sit down next to my friends who are also part of my pack. Henson, Claire, Kaden and Brianna were all sitting talking amongst each other, but their heads turn when I sit.

"Are you okay Adonis?" Henson, my beta, asks .

"Yeah. I... I just found my mate."

Their eyes lit up in excitement.

"Who?!" They asked simultaneously.

"I just met her, she transferred here from Michigan."

"Is she like us?" Claire asked referring to being a wolf.

"I don't know. We only talked for a very brief time."

"Well what did she smell like?" Kaden questioned.

"She didn't have a smell like that. All I could smell is her peach lotion."

"Have Brianna meet her; she has the best sense of smell too."

I was hesitant but finally agreed, "Invite her over for lunch."

I watch Brianna walk over and sit in the empty desk next to Megan. Megan turned to her and let out the most beautiful smile I have ever seen.

I mind linked Brianna, what is she saying? My wolf and I were very eager to hear.

One second, I can't talk to you both at the same time. She's telling me about Michigan.

A minute later Brianna responds again, she said she was meeting with a teacher at lunch. I'm trying to convince her to just meet him after school.

Try harder then! I urged her.

After a minute of nothing Brianna finally responded, she said she would have lunch with us.

Brianna returned and I gave her a nod, "Thank you."

After the bell rang we started filing out to lunch. Megan and Brianna walked behind us talking. We sat at our usual table and I introduced Megan to the rest of our group. I couldn't stop staring at how beautiful she was. Sometimes she would catch my gaze and shyly look away and a small smile would spread across her perfect lips.

"So Megan, how are you liking Washington? Is it just as cold as where you're from?" Kaden asked.

"I love it so far! Missouri was honestly way too cold for me, but I've always liked the rain."

"Missouri?" Brianna questioned.

It oddly took Megan a minute to interpret the situation and immediately corrected herself, "Michigan, I mean Michigan. It's been a long week," she said and laughed.

We all laughed with her; I'm sure she has been going through a lot. After lunch we walked back to our classes. All but one class I didn't have with Megan.

After Brianna had talked to Megan we came to the conclusion she wasn't a werewolf. She acted different than us and definitely didn't smell like a wolf. If she was my mate she had to learn about our world soon. The question now is when.

I waited by my car for the rest of my friends. As I waited I watched as Megan got into a car with a guy. He looked about 20ish; definitely not a parent. I could feel my wolf becoming angry at the thought of another man protecting and caring for Megan. Finally Kaden, Brianna, Claire, and Henson walked. By the time I looked back Megan had already drove away.

We drove in silence until Claire spoke up, "How do you think the pack will take it, since she's not a werewolf?"

"They will learn to except it! You never question a Luna," I stated very sternly.

"Something about her just doesn't feel right. I don't trust her," Brianna said.

Kaden, her mate, looked annoyed, "She seems trustworthy and she hasn't given us any reason not to trust her. Stop being so skeptical!"

"We've only known her for one day! And I'm not the one who confused Michigan and Missouri! We should be skeptical of that!"

"That's enough!" I yelled. "I'm done with you all fighting like little kids! Brianna you will not question her anymore! I will not have it!"

"We are sorry," they all bowed their heads and apologized.

Our pack house was far outside of town. We wanted distance from the locals and other packs.

I could smell both Alpha Aiden and Alpha Jared in the pack house. I ran up the front steps to see them waiting for me, "It's about the vasílissa... The Order is coming."
