I do not own Ninjago or Whamelie's Transgender Jay story. The only things I own are my OC's and this story. This is not canon to the Transgender Jay storyline.

"It's in your blood, Kara."

Those same words rang in her head over and over again as she ran. Her legs pumped faster than they ever had in her entire life. She had to get away. She couldn't live like this anymore. Her heart beat double-time, straining her blood vessels with every step she took as she ventured farther into the forest, farther away from her inevitable fate.

"There's no escape from the prophecy. You'll show them all."

She'd known it was coming. She'd known. However, she hadn't done anything to stop it. What could she do? No begging or pleading or threats would ever stop them. No, not them.

It.

The Prophecy.

As she tore through the untamed wilderness, her mind raced back in time to that fateful winter day. The day when the prophecy was first spoken. The day that would change her life forever.

"Daddy, come on!" A small girl with long black pigtails pleaded. She looked no older than 7. "You're going to miss the fireworks!"

"Don't worry pumpkin, Daddy's coming!" A voice rang out. Moments later a tall man with a burly beard and a mustache emerged from a small outline in the distance, which was most presumably a house.

"Hurry up Daddy!" The girl yelled as she ran ahead, her fair skin glistening in the moonlight.

"Sweetie, I think you forgot something." Her Dad said as he caught up to her.

She stopped short and turned around to see her Daddy smiling as he held up a blue jacket.

"Winter Solstice isn't exactly warm." He chuckled as she grabbed the coat from his hand and kept running, his long strides easily keeping pace with her small sprints.

They came up over a hill, and the little girl's eyes widened in amazement.

The village was all decked out with colorful lights and hanging lanterns, while other children around her age ran and laughed, carrying sparklers while the adults sat around in chairs talking and gossiping with one and other.

"Bohai, down here!" An old women with a traditional chinese green dress called.

The girl and her dad, Bohai, headed down towards her. She was seated at a table with a few other women of her age. As they approached, the woman ran forward and cupped the young girls cheeks.

"Oh Kara, you become even older every time I see you." She said as she squeezed them before letting her go.

"Well, Annchi, that is how the circle of life goes." Bohai replied as they watched Kara run off towards the hill with the other children, all eager to see the fireworks. He smiled and turned towards another women with her caramel hair tied up in a loose bun.

"So, Edna, how is Sophie?"

Meanwhile, Kara climbed the hill as fast as she could, hoping she wouldn't miss them. She was starting to shiver, so she reached for her jacket only to discover it wasn't there.

"Huh?" She exclaimed, confused. She looked up to see her jacket in the hand of another young girl a little taller and older than she was with her messy ginger hair pulled into a tight braid.
