secrets of Dainswood

chapter 1-the history class

in a small hometown known as Dainswood, 15 year old Lexa Rhodes (which is me) lays on her bed and fidgets her head while dreaming vividly. Lexa can see herself walking in a small corridor towards an ancient looking rustic door, Electric blue light seeps out of the closed door which burns lexa with curiosity. She feels like she needs to open the door and find the source of this luring blue light, she reaches for the faded bronze doorknob...

THURSDAY
I let out a small gasp as my eyes shoot open and I realize it was just a dream. damn,it felt hella real. I suddenly stop thinking about the dream and realize it's the first day of school after summer break. I try to shake the weird vibe of the dream away and walk towards the washroom to get ready.
I stare intently at myself in the mirror, pale ivory skin,big chocolate brown eyes and red velvet hair. I let out a sigh as I think about school.
the only good thing about school is friends.

"Seriously lexa you need to stop staring at cole and talk to me!" Ruth complained.
Everyone was at the lunchroom for break and chattering while I stared at cole.

Ruth is my bestfriend in the whole world. She has jet black dead straight hair with violet streaks and dreamy blue eyes which she covers with her bangs.

I ignore Ruth and still stare at cole
"hey did you know coles throwing a party this Saturday?" I say to Ruth as she rolls her eyes.
"Who dosent know about the party" Ruth murmurs.
"Ruth we are going!!" I squeal
"No way, dainswood Avenue is creepy at night"
Ruth replied.
Dainswood Avenue is a local park where party's are held every now and then. It's basically like a forest as the big trees cover the starry sky.
"come on ruth it's going to be fun and I heard Cole is getting that abandoned farmhouse type building cleaned and redecorated just for the party!" I try to motivate Ruth into coming.
"dark dain shack? even more creepier"
I roll my eyes.

I sit crossed legged on Ruth's bed with Ruth going through her closet. Rodney and Remi sit with me on the bed.
Rodney (mostly known as Rod) and Remi are twins and our best friends for over three years now. They both have mesmerising green eyes and snowy blonde hair.
Remi has waist lentgh blonde hair while Rods hair is always a mess.
Ruth groans.
"Even if I do come to this party I have literally nothing to wear"Ruth complains while banging her closet door.
"I can lend you my black strapless cocktail dress-
"Ew I'd rather show up naked"Ruth interrupts me.
I frown. Rod snorts and Remi just sits there reading a magazine.
"Why don't you want to come to the party though? Don't u like love parties?" Rod asks Ruth.
"Yea I do but with my friends. I don't want to be uncomfortable and greet people with fake enthusiasm. All the popular kids show up at coles parties...I can't even believe he invited lexa"
Rod laughs while I roll my eyes
"I'm popular" I say.
Now everyone laughs.
"Yea popular for tripping on your own left foot in the cafeteria" Rod teases.
I punch him playfully on the arm though the reminder of my trip in the cafeteria runs a shiver down my spine.
Ruth sighs "fine I'll come with you guys"
"Yay" Rod and I say together and jump on the bed while Ruth laughs at us.
Remi shuts her magazine and starts talking to Ruth.
"Listen Ruth if you're not comfortable don't pressurize yourself I know it's hard-
I interrupt Remi
"Uh shut up Remi. She's coming"
Remi goes back to reading her magazine.

FRIDAY
it's history class,I like history but mrs parkson makes it really boring by reading aloud paragraphs very dryly from the textbook.
I doodle mindlessly on my sticky note when Ruth starts mumbling.
"Ruth?" I whisper
her mumbling gets louder, I'm unable to clarify the words.
"Ruth are you ok?"
her mumbling gets even more louder, people start turning their heads to see what's the problem, Mrs parkson still hasn't noticed and keeps reading...
"i need...give me..box" Ruth mumbles distinctively.
"Ruth dear? Are you okay?" Mrs park son asks while Ruth ignores her.
I start to get very worried and a few kids record her secretly...
Ruth suddenly stands up abruptly
"GIVE.ME.THE.DAMN BOX!" Ruth yells and everyone stares at her as her eyes roll into her head and the world blacks out for her.
