*Pipp's POV*
It's been all war here in our place. Everyone wanted independence and freedom from the Spaniards because of their cruelty to our people. They even made us learn their language and made us do their traditions without our will. But despite that, I made a new but secret friend. His name is Spain. Turns out, he didn't really wanted to be a part of all of these. He just wanted to explore the&2 world and spread the word of God. But then his dad was amazed by our place and wanted to take us over. But our people and my father was against it all. They fought and fought until now. My people were desperate but Spain's people were harsh. Our people was basically enemies with Spain's and that's why we kept our friendship in secret.
“Hey Spain?” I broke the silence with the two of us by the cliff. He looked at me and smiled.
“Yes amorcito?” He replied.
“Why did you choose to be friends with me?— It's nit that I don't want to be friends with you but our dads are enemies.” I mumbled out
“If our dads are enemies doesn't mean we have to be enemies too. Look Pipp, the moment I set foot on your land you're the first person I set eyes on. It was when you were running with your brothers to see us. I thought ‘She's really pretty, I want to be friends with her’ so I made a move.”he explained making me blush but feel a bit offended and sad. I mean... It reminded me of ina's death.
“Y-you just wanted to be friends with me because I'm pretty? That's it?” I stood up from the carpet we've been laying on. He was obviously taken aback from my words.
“W-well, yes amorcito. But I learned a lot about you and kept on noticing that you are as beautiful on the inside as you are outside. You're sweet, caring and lovable. Actually you're more than that—” Spain was cutted off by loud voices coming from the forest beside us.
“pIPP?!?!! PIPP WHERE ARE YOU?!” it was kuya del's voice.
“Quick Spain, hide!” Spain ran away knowing that if gets seen by my brothers, he'll be hurt badly and might even die. He waved at me and mouthed ‘See you tomorrow, Pipp’ before disappearing.
“Kuya nandito ako!” I yelled and infront of be appeared my brothers. Martial looked at me with tears almost falling from his eyes. And Del was sweating so much.
“You made us worried, bunso. Don't ever do that again. Tell us were you're going next time okay? And go home before sundown.” Kuya Del told me and I nodded in response.
“Alam mo naman siguro na may mga p*tanginang umaaligid dito diba? Don't run away like that again.” Kuya martial added and I nodded once again.
“Should we go home now? Dad's gonna go home after two hours from now.” I asked
“Well no, not yet. We have something to talk about, Pipp.” Kuya Del looked at me, his eyes meant business. I started to panic and sweat.
“W-what is it?” I asked trying not to look suspicious.
“We know, Pipp. You've been seeing Spain haven't you?” I flinched.
“what? Why would you say that?” Martial then looked at me with concern.
“W-wait— wAS HE STALKING ME?!” I panicked and suddenly those words came out of my mouth. I was shocked with my lies. It was the first time I'm lying to my brothers... It broke my heart. But it would be better this way I thought.
“T-that f*cker. I should teach him a lesson. From now on, you shall not go outside our home alone Pipp. It's for your own good.” Martial clenched his fist and Del did the same.
“I agree with Martial.” I suddenly became aggressive and answered back.
“I deserve freedom too. Just like the two of you” they coldy turned their backs at me.
“You do deserve it Pipp. But not now. We don't know what the Spaniard are planning right now. Spain must have been ordered to be friends with you and would betray you in the end. It's better if we hide you away.” Del exclaimed but I wasn't getting all of these. Spain is already a friend of mine, but what if what kuya Del said was right and was the truth? N-no... That can't be. Spain won't do this to me.
“We promised mom that we would protect you anyways. Now follow us back home Pipp.” I held both of their hands while walking home. When we got home I went straight to my room thinking about what my eldest brother told me. I was scared, sad and mad. I mean, why would Spain lie to me? What did I even do to him?
