Laying on the grass, feeling the sun's warmth, you closed your eyes, trying to nap. However, your mind kept you up, with racing thoughts that rose, and you couldn't get certain things out of your head.
" Why do I not care that Lumpy exploded? Why am I not happy to have talked to people again after so long? Why am I so unsatisfied and unaffected by today's events? What's wrong with Flippy? He looked weird and discombobulated, then quickly ran away. Why does he feel so different from the others?"
These thoughts repeated in your mind, preventing you from sleeping. You rose suddenly, groaning at the struggle. You rubbed your temples in frustration. Things were a lot simpler when you were stuck in your den.
The sun was going down by now, and the stars became more visible. It was about time to head on back home before it got too dark.
As you headed home, you saw a strange house you'd never seen before. It looked like a big log of wood with windows and a door. It was actually quite quiant. Inside, you could see Flippy sitting in a chair reading a book peacefully. You couldn't help but spy for some reason and you approached the window sneakily. As you came closer, you stepped on a branch, which made a loud noise. You cringed, looking back up at Flippy who was inside. He jumped and panicked; his breathing becoming heavier like before, and his eyes changing. He must've been freaking out because he thought someone was outside his house, but then again, what dangerous thing could be out here? He wasn't wrong that there was someone outside, but you weren't a threat, in fact no one here was. Why was he panicking like that?
You blinked for a second, and he disappeared out of your sight.
"Huh?" You muttered to yourself.
How strange. This was almost getting scary. You decided it was probably a good idea to just head on home and leave him alone, he clearly wasn't in a good place right now. It would also be awkward if he found out you were kinda creeping on him and watching him from outside. You backed up and was about to leave, but you bumped into something soft from the back. It made your heart jump and you screamed a little. Turning around, you saw Flippy staring at you with his piercing yellow eyes.
" H-HeY Flippy-uh, sorrY, I was just walking home and thought I...Saw something weird...In your house, or something. Hhahah..." You blabbered.
To your surprise, all Flippy did was smile. He had sharp teeth now somehow and he looked scarily happy.
" You, uh, you ok there, buddy?" You asked.
He suddenly grabbed you by the head, and twisted it so suddenly you felt something snap.
Everything went pitch black.
A blinding light followed, surrounding you overwhelmingly. It was ominous, yet comforting at the same time.
Then it was all white.
" AH" You gasped, jumping out of bed, nearly falling off. Your heart was racing, and you were hyperventilating. You rubbed your neck, feeling it be in it's right place.
"Must have been a terrible dream then..." You mumbled to yourself, starting to get out of bed.
Walking to the living room, you noticed there was still an opening in the rock piles.
"Huh."
How much of it was a dream?
