"Hey Mark, wait up!!!" I tried to catch up to him and my friends. "Come on Jack! You gotta be faster!" Mark shouted as he ran faster. "Ethan's fine, and he's smaller than you!" He teased and hi-fived Ethan as they ran beside each other.

I always thought Mark had something special in him. Like...It was almost like he wasn't fully human. I brushed that thought off and kept trying to catch up. Soon arriving to the biggest celebrations around our kingdom, Vergose, to see our king choose a prince from the crowd. I didn't quite like the idea, since he could pick the greediest most rudest person out there and he wouldn't even know it. I never really got the idea of choosing, but he is our king so I couldn't do anything about it.

We all made it and shoved our way into the crowd as we laughed and giggled excitedly. I was the last one to make it to our little 'spot' during this ceremony. "Excuse me, sorry, I'm coming through." I slowly made my way there. "No one waits for me!" I groaned and brushed some access leaves from my shirt. "I don't even know how you guys do it, but to me it's scary!" I chuckled slightly and looked up to see no one paying attention to me, only the king walking out from the balcony.

"Greetings my wonderful people, now is the time to choose." He spoke loudly over the balcony. "Who's it gonna be???" I awaited impatiently. Mark chuckled and looked around.

During this assembly, the king shines a special light down across the people. See, the king has this special orb that has powers no one else has. It can manipulate others powers along with having its own unique magic such as flight, ice, and fire.

The four main elements for this orb are Ice, Fire, Water, and Air. But it also can copy other magic spells.

There's two sides, and the king is clearly not a huge fan of the 'other side.' If he could banish the others than he would, but there's policies to being king. One I deem stupid in my opinion.

Rule #1: Never use your powers against your own people.

Rule #2: Never separate from your kingdom.

Rule #3: Never banish anyone who doesn't deserve to.

Rule #4: Can't be older than 50 to be in full control over your people.

I watched as the light circled the crowd. Mark looked around with a worried face. "Mark! Mark! It's coming to me!" I jumped up excitedly. The light nearly touched me, but just as it almost happened Mark pulled me back. "M-Mark???" I fell back as he hid me behind a wall. "You are too young to be a king Jack! Do you not see how hard it is???" His breathes quickened as he looked around. "Mark, the light knows who to pick and I have nothing else happening in my life. I know I'm a little young, But I can handle it. There's no getting rid of the light now." I shoved him off me. The light found me as the guards stomped over to Mark and I.

"Sir, I'll have you step away from our new king." One of them growled at Mark. Mark hesitated and looked at me with worried eyes. He stood up and shakily stepped away. "Come your highness. The king awaits you." One of them grabbed my arm and dragged me away to the castle.
