You stepped down from the ladder and now you were shorter than Johnny again. You look up at him "Wanna go grab some food? I'm starving!" "Dressed like that?" he pointed to you. You just nodded "Yeah ok why not." he shrugged "Great! I'll drive!" You exclaimed with a big smile.

On the way to the nearest place to get a burger, you guys talk about how prison was. "Yeah I owned that bitch!!...Nah I'm kidding I kept to myself." You sighed almost in relief but it wasn't. "You know Y/n...all the years you were gone and everything that you have been through I never would have thought that you would be this smiley, happy person still. That's one of my favorite things about you."

Silence just silence for a good minute or 2. "You know Johnny thank you, and thank you for always being by my side when no one else would." After that you both listen to the radio in peace.

When you pulled up at the diner you both got out of the car and walked to the door which Johnny held open. "After you, pretty lady." "My my what a gentleman." You said in your best thick southern accent. Johnny lightly pushed you and laughed. " Nevermind I take back my complement." "To late. Already heard it." You put your hands over his ears "No you didn't see..you never heard me."

You both laugh and sit down and got ready to order. You were sitting across from each other in a booth and the seats aren't the best but it will do. You ordered your favorite meal off the menu with your favorite drink and you haven't had since you got put in the slammer. When the food arrives you both started to eat and talk about the random stuff like how long Johnny's hair is.

Once it was time to pay you and Johnny fought over who should pay. "God damnit Johnny. LET. ME. PAAAAY." his just smile this soft, simple smile that made you forget about that you were arguing about just now.
He ended up winning since you drove.

When you got home you ask Johnny if you want to help you more with your room or if he had to get home soon. He looked at his watch and decided to stay for a few. It took maybe an hour but everything was finished. You and Johnny drill tiny holes in your ceiling to put battery powered lights in those holes and taped the battery packs to the ceiling and painted it black."Oh my God Y/n your a genius that looks like real stars!!" "I know right!!!"

"Shit I better get home." "Yeah...Hey let me walk you to your car?" "Mmmm ok." You both preceded out the front door and down your road just a bit to get to where his car is. "Hey Johnny thanks for everything not just helping my room but being a friend and I needed one..so thanks." "Wow....That's the nicest literally the nicest thing you've ever said to me." "Shut up...no it's not.." "No it's not, because your a little secret sweetheart" He said in this little baby dumb voice. You both laughed."Yeah yeah ok you dork...come here." You gestured to give him a hug. He happily went in for it.

It wasn't a longest hug but it was long enough to feel each other's heart beating against your own chest. Maybe because of the laughing but maybe it was something else...Maybe he felt the same way..It all stop suddenly when he got a call from Nancy.
