Taking a leap of faith worked at times. Other times, it left you worse than before, hitting rock bottom. And when you hit bottom, don't give up, have that slither of faith.
•Howard's Perspective•
I wake up, feeling energized and ready. And with a question, is there a cure? I look down from my bunk and see Joey sleeping.
I get off from the top bunk, examine the cell, then the hallway. I listened for any growling or moaning. Silence.
I go back to the cell, seeing it's better to wait for Joey then to venture off on my own. I look at Joey, she looks peaceful. The way her black hair falls like feathers on her face, the way her chest rose and fell with ease, she looked, beautiful.
She began to stir. Her chocolate eyes, stirring to life. She stretched, "How long have you been awake?" Her voice, was soft.
"Not long, I don't think nothing followed us here, I didn't see anything so." She nodded her head. We packed up, then Joey double checked me before we headed out again.
I couldn't shake the thought of a cure. It was something that couldn't be shaken, especially in our time. It was a leap of faith.
"Howard? Is there something on your mind?" Her voice, was so gentle and caring. Yes, there is. I'm falling for you, and falling fast. Not only that, what if there is a cure?! It should be you!
"Not at all. Perfectly fine," my voice cracking at the last part. She looked at me, those eyes pleading. Like a puppy who just wants to be cuddled and loved. "It's okay." She looked away.
Look back please.
She grabbed my hand, "C'mon! Let's go!" She had excitement in her voice.
"Where are we going?" I chuckled, trying to hide the blush growing across my face. She looked back.
"Why are you blushing?" I looked down, feeling my face getting even hotter. She laughed, it made you want to laugh and smile. "It's so funny when you try to hide it."
I looked at her, putting my other hand behind my head and smiling. The blush still there.
