Bullets zooming past, aircrafts plummeting towards the unforgiving ground, and people diving out hoping for survival. That's what John Lee was right in the middle of. A squadron of German soldiers was heading right towards him, guns blazing, crosshairs right on him. Then there's Frank, Frank Greene, Johns best friend since he was four, ever since that age they stuck together through anything and sure enough 25 years later, they were both drafted into the allies army. He gets a tight hold on John's backpack and drags him towards the trench. John forces himself out of shock and realizes what's happening, World War II. Allies are fighting against Axis for the second time in 1939 in an intense war. John then remembers all but him and Frank are the only ones in the trench trying to push back German forces and keep base camp safe for them and all the soldiers back at home. All the other soldiers either abandon there post or were killed and the ones who abandon there post were killed while committing treason. They called for reinforcements and no one answers, then all the firing just... Seised. A German soldier, clearly a very high rank. Started speaking in German fortunately Frank and John both spoke German, they took advanced classes for Axis language learning or (ALL) as in ALL Axis languages. The German "Officer" says "We my forces, are offering a very generous offer, surrender and be sent to a work camp or be killed its your choice Americans!" Just then an American Commanding Officer who was originally dead whispers,"I know what's gonna happen to me but, I've all ready signaled for a bombing they should be here in a few minutes. John and Frank give a small smile and then remember the situation, the American officer take a slight cough and passes on. Then the "German Officer shouts "This is your last chance Americans surrender or succumb to death." Frank sees the bombers in the distance, he takes out his rifle and fires at the German officer he falls down with a thud. Then John opens the underground hatch inside the bunker while enemy fire is blowing right past him when Frank steps in. John is to follow close behind and he closes the hatch next, all they hear is the sound of bombs then...Silence. They open the hatch and there is two French planes next to the trench and German bodies. The flyers of the planes invite John and Frank in, they accept and are taken to camp to receive some food, water, and sleep as a reward for surviving another day in World War II.
