I stared mortified at the man back at my mother then at the man again.

"N-no it can't be you left us for another woman you got the other woman pregnant I have step-sisters. How could you come back into my house saying you've missed me and my mother then to say you love us!"

"Cleo keep your voice down!"

"No! How can you accept him back?! He left you with me for Gods sake!" My voice had long been high and I started crying.

"Listen Cleo I-."

"No don talk I don't want to hear anything from you just shut up leave me alone I hate you and I hate you mom I hate The both of you!"

"Cleo come back her right now! Cleo!"

I ran up to my room slammed the door and locked it.

"I knew he would come back. I knew this would happen. I knew my mother would take him back into her life. And for what? For him to hurt her again?"

I stayed there crying my eyes out until I dozed off and fell into a deep sleep.

When I woke up it was 5:00 a.m. I tiptoed down the stairs and went outside. I closed the door behind me and I started to run towards keans house.he'll help me.

When I knock on the door kean answered he was surprised to see me at first but when I explained to him what happened his smile disappeared.

"What are you going to do? You just can't go back with that man living in your house now."

"I know kean honestly I don't know I need to figure something out before it gets too far.

We made up a plan to get that man out of my house,when we finished I got back home just in time. But I wasn't lucky. When I walked through that front door I heard Mario (my father) laugh.

(Deep chuckle)" ah stupid girl you didn't think you would get away with it did you?"

"What are you doing up?" I asked fear in my voice.

"I came to teach you a lesson."

He grabbed me by my neck and hauled me up against the wall."this will teach you twice then to disrespect me!"

As I tried to gasp for air I managed to get a scream out before my wind supply began to cut off.

"Help someone please help!"

As I felt the blackness hit me I heard a door break open and the grunts of a fight. Before I can see who saved me my vision went black and I fell into a peaceful dream.

The next morning I woke up to very harsh sunlight and people whispering.

"Shh she's waking up."

"W-what happened?."

" your father tried to choke you to death but kean came in and saved you, I'm so glad your ok!" My mom said with a shaky voice.

"It was no big deal I forgot my phone in Cleo's purse and when I heard her scream I came in and helped her."he smiled showing off those dimples of his.

"Uh thanks Kean I owe you one, so where's Mario?"

"He's in jail and you don't owe me anything your my girlfriend it's my job to protect you." He punctuated that sentence with a kiss.

My mom stared at us, her mouth in a tight line.

"So uh you guys are dating?" A smile played at her lips "I fully support you two as long as the same mistake I made doesn't happen to you sweetie."

"It won't mom thank you so much!"

As I grin up at Kean he grins back at me, he then picks me up and spins me around in a tight embrace.
