Wipe or Kiss

FLASHBACK

Thirdy's POV

After a 3-set loss to DLSU this season (Game 2), Dani called me that she's still in the BEG. Training... And for pete's sake, it's already 11:30 pm..

Nang tumawag si Dani at sinabi ang tungkol dun, nag-drive agad ako papuntang Ateneo.

After half an hour, nakarating na ako sa BEG and there I saw her... Damn. She's crying.

Nakita niya ako pero tuloy parin siya sa pag-iyak. Hanggang sa unti-unti siyang lumapit sakin. I opened my arms... Wide. Dali-dali niya akong niyakap and I hugged her back. Mas lalo siyang umiyak.

"Hush Bei! It's okay." I said. Ayoko na nakikita siyang umiyak... I really hate it. Damn.

"Thirds, I-I'm tired. I feel like lahat ng energy ko n-na-drain na. We've done our best naman." She said while crying.

Hindi ko alam kung anong sasabihin ko. Hayst.

"Maybe it's God's way of telling you that there is a greater thing along your way. Look Bei, you need to rest. A loss from them cannot stop you from getting that title back, Kapitana." I said and wiped her tears.

"But still, Thirds... Arghh. Why can't we do that? Anong kulang? We've done this before... Why can't we do it again?" She asked in frustration.

"Confidence Bei. Hindi mo kailangang pagurin yung sarili... Mag-training ng ganitong oras? That's not the main key. Trust your teammates. Have faith and of course, courage." I said. Hope na tumigil na siya sa pag-iyak but she didn't.

She hugged me instead. "Thank you so much Thirds!"

"Always welcome, my Kapitana. Always. Now wipe your tears na or else..." I said the last sentence with a warning tone.

"Or else what?" She asked.

"Or else I'll kiss you... Drying your tears... Putting all the pain and worries away." I said. Ang tapang ko ata ngayon? Para kay Bea. "Now choose. Wipe it or I'll kiss you?" Pagpapatuloy ko pa.

"Maloko ka talaga!" She said. Pinunasan niya na ang luha niya and she kissed me on my cheeks. "Since you deserve it naman. Hahaha. Thank you Thirds!" Sabi niya ulit.

I hugged her again. Tighter. "Suitor duties my 'good friend' daw hahaha. I'm happy na tumatawa ka na. Smile always Bei." I said. I really love this girl. So much.

PRESENT

Just a day after that championship. I'm proud of my girl. Yes, my girl. She said yes to me earlier and that's one of the happiest moments in my life.

I know she can do it and she did. Nakakatuwa lang. Iniiyakan niya kada talo but look... Champion na... MVP pa.

"Nakangiti ka nanaman... Are you thinking of me? Oh stop hahaha." Bea said. Hindi ko napansin na nakangiti na pala ako.

"Basta happy ako I'm thinking about my fam na kaagad and you're part of the fam Bea. I love you so much." I said.

"Love you Thirds! Thank you for staying with me in those bad and good times. I treasure you. A lot." Bea said.

We hugged each other. Aaahhh one of the best.
