Tonight seemed like as good a time as any to torture myself.

What even happened last? Something with a cave and a weird lady? Anyway, Mack walks away from wherever he was previously, feeling that the Great Sadness has been lifted from his shoulders.

Jesus and Mack talk about the fear and shock Missy felt when she was kidnapped, and how the Holy Spirit comforted her. I'm not gonna lie, this part is depressing as crap. However, then Jesus says Missy was more worried for the family members than for herself, knowing how sad the family was going to be.

When I was 6, I don't think that would have crossed my mind. I'd just be waiting for someone to get in here and rescue me.

They talk. And talk. And talk. Mostly about learning to let yourself be loved. And the difference between Heaven and the New Earth.

Jesus says he hates religion, politics, and economics because every single human worry on earth stems from one of the three. I mean, I worry I'll die of a rare disease. Can we get a fourth category?

As usual, the chapter ends with me struggling to tie together all the things they talked about.
