Chapter 7:Duck and goose

We hold hands onto each other and walk back to school all together. When I got back in, I look back towards the rest of the people coming back to the school building and I'm waiting for Sarah to come right in. Not only Sarah, I'm also waiting for Logan as well. Nick spotted me standing there waiting for someone, with my arms crossed. He walk towards me, wanted to check on me for something. "Who are you waiting for?" Nick asked. "I'm waiting for Sarah or Logan to come here, just wanted to talk to them" I answered. "About what?" Nick asked again. "Nothing, why do you asked?" I answered and then I asked back. "I notice that you are crossing your arms, it represent that you are mad at someone" Nick answered. "Oh I said and I uncrossed my arms. I cutely look at him, making an obvious face at him for knowing what this crossed arm thing represent. "Sorry" I said, feeling like I made a mistake here. "It's okay, you are fine" Nick said, being polite here as he's walking away to talk to someone else. Later, Sarah finally got inside of the school building. "Sarah" I called her name out and Sarah started looking at me. "Richard" Sarah called my name as well and she walk towards me. "Is Logan with you?" I asked. "No, I thought he's with you" Sarah said. "He wasn't with me throughout recess. That's strange, where is he?" I asked. Suddenly, we both heard screaming coming from outside and all of the rest of us are heading towards the glass sliding door, looking through as we're investigating on where the screaming comes from. Sarah and I quickly look out through the glass window and take a peak, but there are so many people here, they won't let us see where the screaming is coming from. Mr.Kunst was outside and spotted someone out there who is having trouble here. "What's going on?" Matthew asked. "What's going on?" McKenzie asked. "Where did that noise coming from?" Kate asked. "Where did it come from?" Emma asked. Mr.Kunst look at the direction to where the screaming noise came from. "Logan, hey Logan" Mr.Kunst called his name out loud and he started running up towards him. "Wait, what happen to Logan? I can't see when this amount of people here are looking out through this giant window here" I asked. "I'm trying to get a better view, but they always keep pushing and shoving here" Sarah said as she's struggling to get a better view. Unfortunately, Ms.Bain steps right in and tell all of us to step out away from the big window. "Alright everybody, get away from the big window there and sat back down. We're going to do some activity here" Ms.Bain announced. Ms.Tunick steps right in, gently pushing us all away from there and all of us are sitting onto the cushions that Mr.Kunst set up a few hours ago. I sat onto this one giant blue beanbag here and this other girl sat onto the other edge of the beanbag that I'm sitting on. I look at her, wondering what she's doing or what she is trying to do here. "Umm...could I ask you what are you trying to do here?" I asked and I cutely double blink at her. "Blue is my favorite color, I want to sit here" the girl said. Then all of the sudden, she touched my left shoulder with both of her hands and she using as many force as she can, pushing off away from the beanbag that I'm sitting on. "Hey, that's rude. You know I sat here first before you did" I had a point there. I jump back onto the beanbag, showing that it is half on half for the both of us, even though I don't know what her name is. What I meant for half on half is that I'm sitting on the half edge, to the left, of the blue beanbag and the girl sit on the other half, which is the right side. Obviously, the girl didn't know what the idea that I hid in mind, so I had to tell her. "Listen, I don't know what your name is, but would you kindly tell me what your name is?" I asked. "Not until you get off from this thing here, then I'll tell you what my name is" the girl said, which she slightly tilt her head to the right and make an angry, wide eyed look on her face on me, trying to scare me. I don't know what has gotten into her, but I have to say something or else she will get cranky on me. "Geze, I'm just being nice here and this is what you give me?" I asked. "Yeah, I don't know who you are, but you better move away, scram" the girl said. "Can you at least share? Again, I got here first before you do" I asked and noted. "No" the girl said, refusing to listen and she hug the beanbag. "Instead of jumping in and sit on the cushion to where someone got it before you did, you could have asked them to let you sit with them like a politeful person would do. Now come on, tell me what your name is so I can allow you to sit by me" I said. She makes a fuzzy face at me and then she violently got up. "Fine, my name is Layla. There, happy? Now let me sit here" Layla finally told me what her name is. "We can share, half to half, but okay" I said. And so, Layla and I share a single big blue beanbag here and we lay down onto our stomach. Everybody here started sharing sears here, which that is a good thing because you suppose to share someone here the cushion that you are sitting on. It doesn't matter whether you got the cushion first then the others did, but at least you like to play a racing game against your friends of getting the cushion first. It's completely fine, but don't do something that has gone too far, such as disrespecting others by telling them to scream and said that the cushion is yours, just share. Besides, sharing is caring, you will never know if someone wants it or not. Anyway, all of us are getting comfortable here as Ms.Tunick and Ms.Bain are getting or setting up something. Meanwhile, Mr.Kunst finally made it back inside of the school building and he's carrying Logan here. Logan is crying here, probably he is hurt for something. I look at the group of people around me and most of them didn't care but started laughing, enjoying the moment they are having right now. I notice Sarah is looking at Logan and it's not only Sarah who is looking at Logan, four of five more people also started looking at him as well. I continue looking at him and Mr.Kunst gently put Logan onto the chair. "What happened to Logan?" Ms.Tunick asked. "He fell down from the done playground while he's up there, and when I'm trying to get him off there, he fell down and got a scrape onto his left arm" Mr.Kunst answered. "Oh no, I'll get the med kit" Ms.Bain said and she gets up from the chair to get the med kit. "See, I told you not to bring these kids in a playground spread with bark chips on it" Ms.Tunick said. "Hey, at least most of the kids didn't get themselves hurt out there, except him here" Mr.Kunst said and he points at Logan. Three groups of girls here are whispering at each other on my right side and I look at Sarah on my left side. She notice that I'm looking at her and she started to show me some gesture here, showing that I have to leave him alone. I pointed her and did the same gesture that Sarah shown me. She agrees, so we all mind of our own business here. A few minutes later, Mr.Kunst brought Logan into the group of boys that is right next to Sarah. "Everybody make a circle" Mr.Kunst command and he spread his arms up, making both of his arms fall onto both of the side of his hips. Ms.Tunick and Ms.Bain got up and walk towards us, which I spotted Ms.Bain holding something there. Ms.Bain is holding a small stuffed animal and puts it right next to her after she sat right next to the spot where Ms.Tunick is sitting. Ms.Bain and Ms.Tunick are sitting right between the glass slider door and then she was watching Mr.Kunst gently pushing us all to the position that he wants us to sit. Obviously, he wants all of us sit onto a spot where we can all make a circle. After we finally sat down and create a circle, he goes around checking to see that we are on the spot that he want us to be. "In this activity, we're going to play a game, and that game is called duck and goose. What you suppose to do is to go around gently touching everybody, around the circle, on the top of their head. While you are gently touching them of top of their head, you have to say duck. When you pick someone that you like to play with, or you most likely play with someone that you like as a friend, say goose. It means you chose that person to catch you, and what that person is trying to do is to catch you while you're running away from them. You must quickly head back to the spot where you originally sit, quickly made it back to the safe zone. That way, you are safe and prevented by the person who is chasing you. However, if you got caught by the person who which you called  goose while touching his or her head, you're it, staying it the way that the game plays for who knows how long. You guys understand this game?" Mr.Kunst explained and then he asked. "Yes!" all of us shouted at the same time. "Good, let's start. I'll be it this time" Mr.Kunst said. He started walking up towards Emma and he gently touched her on top of her head. He also said duck while he touched Brooklyn on top of her head and he did the same thing to the others. I'm glad he goes first because I don't understand how I play this game. Even though he explains the instruction of this game, I'm having this hard time understanding the rules here, but it will be much easier if he shows me an example. Anyway, while Mr.Kunst is going around touching everyone here on the top of the head and saying duck at the same time, he did that to Addison, Jacob, Kyle, Blake, Emily, Ella, Tim, Brooklyn, and Grace. When Mr.Kunst touch Matthew on top of his head, he said goose and now he started running away from him. Matthew quickly stands up and chase Mr.Kunst, trying to grab him at some point. Matthew impressively caught Mr.Kunst by grabbing him on his left arm and it shows that Mr.Kunst is still it. Ms.Tunick stands up, wanted to say something here. "Hey guys, I think I have a better idea of this game. Everybody will be it once. But if you got picked, whether you got the person or not, you're still it. Sorry for the changes here" Ms.Tunick said. "So Matthew, please don't be sad. You're it in this game" Ms.Bain noted Matthew. "Oh it's okay, I'm fine with that" Matthew said. "Good, I"m glad you accepted it without having stress here" Mr.Kunst said. "Why would I have stress when I'm it Mr.Kunst? I can handle this" Matthew said and he started smirking. "Alright, now continue on by touching them on top of their head" Mr.Kunst said and he gently hit him on the back on his left shoulder. Matthew said duck multiple times while touching them on the top of the head. The person who is already got their head touched was me, Layla, Sarah, Addison, Brooklyn, Nick, McKenzie, Kate, Kyle, and Mark. When Matthew touched Logan on top of his head, he said goose and he started running away from him. Logan got up and look at Matthew while he's moving away, not knowing what he's going to do here. Everybody didn't say anything to him, so I step in and say something to him. "Logan, get him before he gets into the safe zone" I warned him. "Come on Logan, get him" Sarah said it to him as she's cheering for him. Emma and Emily are cheering him on as well, which I don't know what they're saying to him because they both talked to him at the same time. I think Emma told Logan that he needs to get going there and Emily told him to chase him down like a dog hunting down its prey. "Come on Logan, get Matthew" Layla said. When Logan heard enough from us, he immediately chasing Matthew down as quickly as he can. Matthew quickly made it back to his safe spot and Logan grabbed him on both of his shoulders, thinking that he caught him. "I got you, I got you" Logan said. All twenty of us are looking at each other, wondering what are we going to react when Logan grabbed Matthew on both of his shoulders after he made it to the safe zone. "Uhhh...we'll take it" Mr.Kunst made a decision here. Since Mr.Kunst accept it, we all make a noise by cheering Logan up, congratulating him that he caught Matthew. "But I though I didn't get caught by him when I'm on the safe zone" Matthew thought. When Matthew said that, it makes Logan feeling worried, afraid that this rule that we all suppose to follow on while playing this game. "This time, you all are going to play this game in an easy way. Like Mr.Kunst said, everybody gets the turn to be it. And since Matthew made it to the safe zone and he's already been it, Logan is it. So Logan, you get to choose who is it" Ms.Tunick noted. Logan goes around and tapping everybody on top of their head while saying duck and this game continues on.
