Can we stop the time?

Magnolia wakes up in the morning expecting a headache as always, except that this time it didn't come. Except that this time instead of the regular headache she found a familiar face sleeping next to her with her hands around her body clenched just so lightly. Magnolia remembers everything. How she felt when she saw Ahana holding hands with someone else in the bar yesterday, how they kissed in the bathroom for a time which almost felt like an Year, how they ran out of the bar to the roads half drunk, half giddy, holding hands as they ran past the LA traffic. Ran against the traffic but closer to each other till they reached ahana's home and all she remembers is the sound of ahana's skin against the bed sheets after that. She looks around at the room. It had posters of bts and little mix and blackpink all over it. And some Polaroids with people magnolia guessed to be her friends and family. Seeing ahana's smile in each one of those pictures made her go back to what she most evidently remember of the night they met. Magnolia made jokes and Ahana laughed and not even knowingly, magnolia fell for her somewhere in the middle of all that laughter. Magnolia smiled to herself and whispered in ahana's ears ," Koo, " she was surprised at that nickname herself but had no intention of taking it back, " we have to get up, we both have colleges to attend ." Ahana's eyes slowly opened taking some time to register what had really happened and she said " Please for today can we not go and just stay here with each other, you know we both need that. Please babe? "
A chord rung in magnolia's heart. She has never felt this way. This feeling of being wanted by someone, the feeling of receiving love. She never got it from any other person she ever kissed or dated. And so she stayed. In the bed for a while until Ahana decided to take her somewhere. " It's somewhere I have never taken people to. " Ahana said.
They got up in the car and drived while listening to ' falling for you ' by the 1975 on repeat and they both couldn't help but feel the same way as the writer of the song probably did for someone. They arrived at the beginning of the beach. " As a child I used to come here a lot with my family, we used to have picnics on every Sunday and I would go deep into the water everytime and they would come running after me, too scared that I'd drown. At home we were just 4 people living together but here, here we were a family. I've never brought anyone else here before you know? But with you, something about you made me wanna come back to the place which first made me happy. " Ahana said with a sigh. " So where is your family now? " magnolia asked.
" On my 18th birthday me and my family came here once again. That was the day I came out to my family. I realized my parents were more scared for me that they've ever been. According to them I was going too near to the sea again towards danger and they were there to help me out. I could never make them understand how I can swim too without drowning and this time they aren't supposed to follow. The last memory I have of this place was my mom saying " we would wait for you to come back " and I said " never ". The next thing I knew is that I was living in some other part of the city working two shifts to pay my rent and they never understood what the real scary part was. We have not been in touch ever since .

Ahana held her hand and said " I brought you here because I want this to be our happy spot like it used to be mine. I wanna recreat happy memories with you here.
Magnolia was almost in tears and listening to this she pulled Ahana close to her body, so close they could  hear each other's heartbeat. All they knew was that they shared the same pain and now the pain in their chests has a portal to each other's and it was like those sci fi movies only so much more real.
All throughout the day they ran through the beach , dived in the water a million times with no one to hold them back , held each other's arms close and the evening came and went and so did the night.
At around 11 :00 pm while they were laying down watching the stars on the sand magnolia said " You know I never thought I would find this. This peace of mind. I have always been so scared of everything since I was small and now with you I feel like I'm ready to face the world and all I would need is just one yes from you. I think I like you Ahana. I know it might seem weird considering it's only been two days but I really like you koo. I just think you needed to know that."
Ahana didn't know what to do and so Ahana leaned in for a passionate kiss and in the middle of the kiss she whispered " I like you too Magnolia ."

And this night magnolia slept at night for the first time in years.
