A chuckle escaped his lips as he watched Jim impersonate Dwight. He gazed outside to see the sky filled with dark clouds. He let out a sign, it was going to storm again.
The small smile on his lips, faltered as he heard his boyfriend open the door to their bedroom.
The dark clouds from outside surround him as he waited for Devin to walk out of the room. As he heard the footsteps he turned his attention back to the television.
He was completely focused on the television in front of him, when he felt lips on his forehead. He tore his eyes from the office to look at his boyfriend.
"I'll be back later, baby. Okay?", Devin said as he walked toward the door.
That word. Baby.
He hated that word.
It had been weeks since Devin actually called him by his name. It was always pet names and not the the cute nicknames that had their cut inside jokes embedded within them. He wanted his boyfriend back but he had lost the passion to fight back any longer.
In the past, he would try to keep Devin there with him. He tried making petty insignificant arguments,he tried to make plans, and finally he tried seduction.
It never worked.
He would walk away from the fights claiming that the issues were not important or they would discuss it later. He would constantly try to reschedule the plans; saying he would be stuck all day in meetings. These small interactions never stopped Devin he always left.
He always did this every Saturday at exactly 7:30 in the morning. He left to go visit his lover. Elijah regretted following Devin a few weeks ago.
He saw the two of them on a breakfast date, both them filled with laughter. The man's cheeks were rosy and full of color and happiness. As he looked at them, he stayed silent, as a single tear rolled down his cheek. He never would have believed that Devin would do it so openly. This town was crawling with his business partners, at least that what he told Elijah when he wanted to come out as a couple.
Hearing the door slam, snapped him out of his day dreams, or rather the nightmare that so happened to be his life. His gaze found the screen once again. His eyes slightly glazed over with unshed tears. If anybody was in the room with him they would see his entire body sink into the couch with sadness.
He sat there wondering where was his Jim.
"ELIJAH", his neighbor yelled as he burst through the door. Elijah signed and slumped down into his sit even further. Trent was increasingly more and more overbearing ever time he saw him.
"What do you need this time?"
"Oh, nothing big. I just need a ride so I can pick up Stacy", he pleaded with him trying his hardest to convince Elijah with puppy dog eyes. "I'll even make sure Tyler is there to help control them".
