Little Mistake // s.m

IV

I opened my eyes and stretched out. I looked at the time and it was 11 am. I knew that I won't be able to go back to sleep so I got up and went down to the kitchen. I made myself coffee, added milk, sugar and went to the living room.  I turned on the TV and looked for something interesting to watch.

Suddenly I heard a knock on the door. I thought that it was probably my mom so I went open the door. My breath accelerated when I saw the person in front of me. He pushed me in the house and closed the door behind him.

"Who allowed you to leave the club yesterday!? Who!?" He screamed.

"You called me 'a friend'.." I whispered.

"And!? What's the big deal!?"

"The big deal is that I'm your freaking girlfriend! Not your 'friend'." I raise my voice with tears in my eyes. A second later I was on the ground holding my cheek. He slapped me.. again..

He came closer to me and grabbed my chin very tightly.

"Don't. Ever. Raise your voice at me again! Get it!?"

"Y-yes.." I mumbled.

"The next time you'll leave without my permission, I will beat the shit out of you! You should be thankful to have a boyfriend like me!"

He looked at me, slapped me one more time and got out of the house. I sat against the couch and brought my knees closer to my face.  I felt first tears going down my cheeks.. He hurt me, he hurt me again. I hate him so much but I hate myself even more cause I still love him.. I should hate him.. But I can't..

I stayed in this position for a long time when I finally decided to get up. I rubbed my tears and went to take a shower. I went to the bathroom, took off my clothes and went to the shower. I started to cry, I don't know why. I was scared of everything and everyone. I just wanted to stay in my room all by myself until the end of my life.

"Mom?" I went to the kitchen and saw my mother doing the evening meal.

"Yes honey?"

"Can I have my phone to listen to music? Pleaseeeee? Moooooom? I love youuuu."

"Maddie, don't start again, please." She looked at me. "Help me and put the plates on the table."

"Fine." I then helped my mother cook the meal. "When will be Bryan back?" I asked by mixing the sauce.

"I told him I would go get him at 6 pm, but Maddie, my back hurt so bad, can you go get him please?"

"Of course, where do Aaliyah live?"

"Her mom send me they address, look in my phone."

"Ok and mom?"

"Yes?" She looked at me. "Maddie oh my god, what happened to your cheek!?" She grabbed my chin.

"Ow that.. I fell on the ground.. yeah I know I'm stupid." I lied.

"Be careful next time." She said worried.

"Of course, don't worry. Ok so Bryan asked me yesterday.. if we can do a family dinner, our and Aaliyah's family."

"Of course honey, no problem." She smiled at me.

"Tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow." She smiled.

"Thank you! Bryan gonna be so happy." I smiled.

Then I read the address on my mother's phone and went out of the house. It was a little cold because I was dressed in shorts and an oversize sweater, but I was too lazy to change myself. I just put some makeup on my cheek.

After 15 minutes I was already in front of Aaliyah's house. I went to the door of their house.

A woman of about 45 years came to open the door.

"Hello ma'am, I'm Bryan's sister and I came to take him." I smiled at her.

"Hey sweetie, come in."

"I don't want to disturb.."

"Oh, but you don't disturb, in any way Liyah and Bryan went to watch movies, but don't worry, they should be back in a few minutes." She smiled at me and I went into the house. I took off my shoes and she invited me to the living room.

"Do you want something to drink?"

"Water if you have please."

"Of course." She smiled and she left in the kitchen.

I looked at the living room and I could say that the house was decorated in a "family" way. I could feel the love in this house.

"Thank you." I thanked when she brought me water.

"So maybe ma'am know-" She cut me off.

"Don't call me ma'am, I feel old when you say that. I'm Karen." She laughs.

"Well..." I smiled "Maybe you know when they started dating? Bryan and Aaliyah."

"I don't know exactly yet but since some weeks Aaliyah was all the time on her phone and she was coming back from school later than usual, so a few days ago I talked with her and she told me that she have a boyfriend."

"They look cute together." I smiled.

"True, and Bryan seems to be a good guy."

"Trust me Karen, he is."

Suddenly I heard a beautiful voice..

"You yeah you.. That's just the truth, the truth
And I'd be lying if I said I'm not stuck on you.."

"That's my son, Shawn, he is a very talented guy." She told me but I was too amazed by his voice to respond. It was an angel voice.

Then we heard laughter in the hall and some minutes after we saw Aaliyah and Bryan.

"Maddie? What are you doing here?"

"I have to come get you kiddo."

"Ow ok .." He looked at Aaliyah and she gave him a peck on the lips. I smiled and looked at Karen.

"Goodbye ma'a- Karen." I smiled.

"Goodbye.. Maddie, right?"

"Yes, and Karen, I have to ask you something."

"Go ahead."

"Bryan and Aaliyah talked to me and they were asking for a family dinner. I mean my family and yours. Do you have any plans for tomorrow?"

"Luckily no, so we'll be happy to come over."

"Great, my mom will send you our address." I said happy. "Goodbye."

"Goodbye Maddie."

I went out of their house with Bryan.

"Thank you so much Maddie."

"You're welcome kiddo."

"Ugh.. Maddie I'm 16, can you please stop calling me like that." He rolled his eyes.

"Naaah." We both laughed and walked to our house.
