The winter was comming.
They had to prepare for it.
Jungkook, the leader of the survival camp, already announced the collection of any long term food and supplies a month ago. His people managed to gather a lot, but it clearly wasn't enough to survive.
The only way out of this situation was to go on a hunting for one last time.
Jungkook was sitting on his hammock, where he woke up a while ago. He didn't know what exact hour it was, because of dark green, nylon walls of the tent he was sleeping in. Young man rushed his hand through his black hair, which started getting in the way. He was thinking of cutting them, while reaching for the map. While looking at it, he considered where to go for hunting. Deep in thought, he didn't notice that Hoseok and Seokjin, his old time friends and trusted companions, came in.
"Goodmorning, princess." said the oldest one with a smirk on his face.
"Ah... hey. Aren't you getting too comfortable as the deputy? " Jungkook took his sight from the map and moved it to the source of the sound, blinking sleepily. "You know, just because you got this role pretty recently, doesn't mean I can't change my mind about it."
Three of them stood in silence for few seconds and then bursted in laughter.
"Any ideas where to go? The people are almost ready." Hoseok said enthusiastically after a while, with sparks of hope in his eyes. He really wished to go near the town, where some of the vending machines were still standing. Why? Because of his favourite drink. The chance of getting it was slowly becomming more and more rare. That's why he wanted to take advantage of every hunting and look around just for a single bottle of his beloved Sprite.
"I've decided." Jungkook sighed heavily. "It's gonna be tough, but because there's no food in the nearest areas that we know, we need to split, to make the chance of getting something out of the hunting more realistic. Namely, I want you, Jin-hyung, to take the lead of the camp and guide the rest of the my people towards the sea, where most of remaining human population is. It's gonna be more safe there. At the same time, me and you, Hoseok, will gather few warriors and go for a last hunt. Our team will catch up with the camp later. We can't waste any time, because as you two noticed, we are running out of food really fast. It's not gonna be enough to go to the camp and survive there, if we stay any longer here."
The other two froze for a while and then exchanged worried looks with each other.
"Isn't it too dangerous?" Jin asked. "We already lost few people last month... And-"
"And that's how you've become the deputy, so I expect you to follow my orders even more strictly. And I know that. That's why we are going to split." Jungkook had a very scary and serious look in his eyes. "If we are going to be attacked it's going to be my team, since most of t h e m are there, in the town. Besides, if t h e y really want to attack, we will draw most of their attention, so the rest of the camp should be safe, if you will move fast enough, Jin-hyung."
Hoseok shuddered at these words. Despite of his courage and optimism, he simply got scared at the tought of him drawing attention of these creatures. The creatures, which ruined this world in just few months, few years ago.
No matter how scared they both were though, nor how weird the leader's plan sounded, they had to obey.
Despite of Jungkook's youg age, he had proven many, many times that he is a perfect warrior, defender, strategic and of course, a leader. He also could be very... intimidating and cruel. And both of his companions and the rest of the camp knew what he is able to do when the things didn't go as he planned...
