A loud bell rings snapping me out of my focus on Mr. Jenkin's chemistry lesson.

"Alright class complete the chart for homework and I will see you tomorrow!"

I pack my blue binder up, pick my pencil case up and put it on top of my binder. Next, I open my phone, plug my earbuds in and play my school playlist. The song Unbelievable by Why Don't We comes on and I sing under my breath all the way to my locker. Just as the song Happy Together by Chelsea Collins comes on, I feel a pair of arms wrap around my waist and a head lay on my shoulder.

"Hello" I jump a little as they did it so fast that it scared me.

"Maybe can you not scare me, Chris?" Christina is my best friend in the whole wide world. She is funny and smart and tells it to me like it is. Chris opens the locker next to mine and shoves her books in with me following suit. We have lunch now and we always go to the Tim Hortons near our school to eat lunch.

On our way I high five a couple of my friends and they join us in the walk to Chris's car so that we can go to Tims.

I walk down the sidewalk of our local mall and look at all the storefronts. I pass by an antique pawn shop and look in the window. A bunch of antique stuff that's not very interesting. I start to continue walking but turn around when a brass and purple round locket catches my eye. It's so beautiful. I tell myself that I won't buy it and that I'm just going to ask how much it costs. When I enter and the little bell on top of the door dings to announce my arrival, something other than the locket pulls me towards the counter. There at the counter, a boy stands. He looks to be about my age maybe a year older. With black hair that's darker than a black hole, and blue eyes that are a shade I've never seen before.

His eyes meet mine with a snap of his neck and he flips the page of what looks more like a sketchbook as I get closer. His pencil moves furiously but when I come close he puts it just out of view. When he looks into my eyes, it feels as if time stops. "h-hi" Is the only thing I can pull out of my mouth and even that doesn't come out right. That's when his perfect full lips lift into a smirk and my heart does a flip.

"What can I get for you?" Oh my gosh, even his voice is perfect. Deep but not too deep.

"I-I-I um.."

My stuttering earns a chuckle which kicks my heart up three gears. I snap out of this weird thing. I have never been that girl to fall head over heels for a guy and I'm not going to start being that girl now.

"How much is the purple locket"

An indecipherable look enters his eyes. "It's free"

"Wait. What!? It can't just be free"

"Yeah, it can. For you. It is." His hand brushes mine and sends electricity up my arm. When his hand doesn't move from off mine which is resting on the counter, I bristle uncomfortably.

"U-um can I have that then?"

Just as quickly as his hand was on mine, it leaves. "Would you like a bag for it?"

"No thank you I think I'll wear it."

This is when he stands from behind the desk to his full height which is a little over a head taller than me. He steps around the sales counter to come up beside me. My breath hitches and I crane my neck up and my eyes meet blue orbs. As he steps behind me, his eyes never leaving mine, he picks up the beautiful, alluring locket, and secures it around my neck. He brushes my hair from under the necklace. At that moment, the locket starts to glow a beautiful purple and I jump back startled by that. The unfortunate part of doing that is I bump right into his chest. He grabs my elbows to steady me.

"It's ok it glows. I forgot to mention that"

"Ok I'm sorry that scared me"

I look up at him and then slowly pull away. "Will it stop glowing?"

"When you take it off yeah"

"Um. When I take it off?"

"Yup. It's not that bad it actually looks really good on you"

A blush creeps slowly up my neck to my cheeks and I duck my face to hide it. "I should get going home but thank you."

What do you guys think? I know that this wasn't very interesting but I need to set the tone. If The boy seems a little upfront then that's because he has to be. Way later in the story that will be explained. But for now, I'm at a loss for what the next chapter will be about, if you have any plot ideas, tell me.

By the way, that is the colour of the boy (Jax's) hair. The eyes are his colour but a royal blue. I looked everywhere and couldn't find eyes like that. His are a lot younger obviously.

Comment if you liked this and follow me as after this I will write other stories.

Don't forget that you are cared for and loved! Stay positive and happy!

Until next time my friends!

XOXO Amy!
