From Beginning To End

 Authors Note: I am starting this earlier than the beginning to explain how Luffy is different. Most of  the chapters are in Luffy's POV. Please let me know how I did all constructive criticism is welcome. (P.S. I still don't own One Piece)

 Setting:

Dawn Island; Mt. Coulubo, Ace and Luffy just finished a long day of training and are taking a break.

Luffy's POV:

I look around for a place to sit, then I remembered something I heard at the village when I went to see Makino. "Oi, Ace what's love?" Ace shot up from where he was laying down at after taking a break.

Ace looked shocked and confused. Ace sat down with a straight face after quickly finding his composure. He smiled and asked, "Where did you hear that from Luffy?" After I told him he asked, "Luffy, how do you feel about women?"

I was confused, "I don't think I know what you mean." I admitted with a confused expression.

Ace closed his eyes and shook his head slowly while thinking of what to say. "Luffy, are you attracted to women?"

"Yes." I looked at him blankly.

"Are you 'interested' in anybody?"

"No." I said blankly. 'I know what he means by that, he told me about dating once and  Ojii-Chan told about sex and making babies before.' I thought to myself.

Ace grinned and looked at me. "Good now you can go into the world and find someone that you can love and adventure with," he said.

"Oi you didn't tell me what love is yet!" I complained angrily.

"Hmm... Well your heart starts to race every time your around a certain a girl. You start wanting to spend more time with her and keep her all to yourself, you get really nervous whenever she is around. Oh I almost forgot," he started as he stood up, "you'll also want to spend the rest of your life with her and maybe have a few kids."

I nodded thoughtfully and stood up. "Thanks Ace, but do you really think I will find someone like that?" I asked as we started walking home to Dadans mountain cabin.

Ace smacked the back of my head lightly and I looked at him annoyed but he just smirked. "The Pirate King needs a Pirate queen doesn't he?" Ace stated more than asked.

"Alright since you leave tomorrow I will make a promise to you," I said while grinning.

"Oh whats that? To not be such a crybaby?" Ace said teasingly.

"I'm not a crybaby!" I yelled and stopped in my tracks and looked at him with a serious face. "I promise, after tomorrow the next time you see me I will have strong nakama and I will find the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with," I said with strong conviction in my words. Ace looked shocked. I grinned and started walking again, Ace followed not far behind.

"Alright! Then promise me one more thing," Ace started, grinning before he finished, "once you know she is 'the one' protect her no matter what and never let her cry."

"Yosh! Then I promise to get strong nakama, find my future pirate queen and always protect her and never let her cry!"

"Good." Ace smiled and nodded in approval. "That's really good Luffy, but don't tell her how you feel until after you know for sure you need her in your life."

"Right!" I yelled agreeing just as we arrived at Dadans mountain cabin.

That night everyone partied at Dadans like there was no tomorrow, drinking laughing and having lots of fun. Knowing Ace was leaving the next day only made them want to party more and stay up longer, but everyone got up and headed for bed knowing Ace'd need to rest for the long journey.

***The next day***

"Oi, Luffy!" Ace called.

"What?" I asked as I put a clean shirt on.

"Come on help me carry my stuff to the boat." I know Ace could carry everything by himself easily but I didn't mind helping. They both decided mentally to walk mostly in silence.

***Ace leaving***

"Don't forget your promise! And get stronger! I don't wanna come and save your ass whenever you get in trouble!"

"I wont forget! I will get stronger! And I will see you on the Sea soon enough!"

Authors Note:As you can tell Luffy is a little OOC I wanted to make him more perceptive(I have a nagging feeling Luffy is just playing dumb but knows exactly what happens). As you can tell this chapter is completely made up but important none the less. Tell me what you think and I promise to get better at this.
