8:36 PM- Havana

Cherry sat quietly at her desk, quickly jotting down the events of today. She set her old pen down before reading what she just wrote. A small amount of ink dripping from the pen and onto the oak table.

This morning, I went to the market to buy some fresh bread. WhileI  was paying for the bread, I saw some of the cities soldiers fending off pirates, I watched, unable to move.

Paralyzed. After the second soldier had shot the first pirate, a blonde figure jumped off of the roof of a building, driving two swords into the noble soldiers chests, killing them both.

The blonde male looked at me before turning to the pirate, he shook his hand before jumping away, looking at me one last time. I remember so vaguely the blonde.

The rest of the day has been relatively quiet. Mother cooked me dinner. I had chicken with peas and carrots.

She sighed, getting up from her chair. Cherry looked at herself in the mirror. She wore a white flowy dress that reached her knees. Just then, her father walked into her room. She stepped back before examining him. He looked exhausted. He rubbed his temples before clearing his throat. "Your mother has passed." I looked at him, my smile fading. "How...? When...? Where?" He bit his lip, "They found her by the shore this afternoon while you were at the market..." Tears welled up in his eyes. "Someone had incapacitated her, leaving Calista to bleed out." My breathing hitched, sitting down onto my bed. He took this as a sign to leave. When he closed the door, tears started to stream down my face. I laid down onto my bed, resting my head onto my pillow, feeling the fabric around my face dampen with my tears. I slowly drifted into a quiet slumber. Not caring enough to investigate the subtle movement over by her window...

6:59 AM- Havana's Port

I woke up in a small, dark room on an unfamiliar bed, slowly getting up, I look around the compact room. As I walk around I notice to the left of me, behind a dark crimson curtain was a model ship. It appeared to have white sails, with many cannons on both sides. It was a beautiful replica, maybe I could see the ship myself one day... I reached out to touch the replica before a voice interrupted my actions.

"Good, you're finally awake."

I looked at the door, seeing a familiar pulled-back mess of blonde hair. I realized that he was the same man that I saw fighting off the soldiers yesterday at the market. "Who are you?" I asked. Being in the presence of the slightly taller male didn't scare me, being in an unfamiliar territory did. "I'm Edward Kenway," He moved his hair out from in front of his face, looking at me, "I'm captain of the Jackdaw."

My eyes brightened, as my smile grew. I wrapped my eyes around him. I honestly didn't recognize him, how would you recognize a person if you haven't seen them since they were 15?

"Hey big brother."
