" Ball four, please take your base." yelled the blue. It's the 2nd inning, I'm a second basemen. I play in a 12 and under baseball league. We only get to play 5 innings, and our pitcher sucks, so I just stand here in the heat until he walks someone. I have been playing baseball my whole life. My father Steve Mern, has been playing with me since I could toss a ball. I love the sport, I feel at home when I play.

" That's inning " yelled the blue.

12 years later...

I'm now at the age of 24, today is a big day for me. I'm trying out to be in Major League Baseball. I live by my self in a one bedroom studio, in Reno Nevada. I don't have a car, I only have a bike, because the only place I go is the Aces baseball field were I play as a 2nd basemen.

I was on my way there, I was sweeting before I even put my batting gloves on.

" Next up, Dean Mern!" said the announcer.

Starting with my hitting, I hit 5 line drives, 3 over the fence, and 7 grounders.

Next I get to do some fielding, I did really good I made 3 diving catches, and 6 side arm throughs to first base.

" Thank you Mr. Mern, that will be all today. Have a good one!" Said the manager.

" Thank you coach" I said back.

After that, my dad took me out to lunch.

" Now all that's left is to wait to get the letter to see if I made it." My father said

" Yes, it's going to be a very long week. I hope they get it to me soon. " I stated.

" You try very hard" my dad said
" Yes I do, But I'm still nervous." I studerd.

One week later...

" Do you know how you did yet Dean?" My coach asked.
" No, I think the results will be in the mail when is get home." I said.
" I hope you make it, it will make our team look great." Announced the coach.

When I got home I didn't see anything but bills in my mail. I was a little up set, they said it would be here. But I guess it should come tomorrow. When I opened my door, there was two raccoons eat all my food.
" Get out you stealing jerks!! I yelled.
They are in my studio at least two times a week. They really freak out my chinchilla too.
