First Day

It was 8 in the morning, the sky is up high and the sun is shining through the white curtains that flowed along with the wind. Your body jolted up as soon as you realized the time.

8 am.

You were late for your first day at U.A. High School. That would not be a good first impression, you thought to yourself. You jumped out of bed, the bed sheets flying mid air as you rushed toward the bathroom. Ten minutes passed and you were finally ready, your school uniform on along with your pink book bag. You had no time to eat breakfast and all you had packed for lunch was a small bento box full of leftovers from dinner last night.

8:30 am.

Finally you arrived at U.A. High School, you were running down the hallways when you suddenly bumped into a blonde boy with spiky looking hair. His shoulder hit your face, as he was clearly taller than you. You fell back from the impact.

"Agh!" You groaned, rubbing your nose and trying quickly to pick up your books that were scattered over the ground.

"Watch where you're going, you moron!" The boy shouted at you. "Tch. You dirtied my uniform." He said, walking away as he brushed his uniform down.

You were left sitting on the ground, a bruise on your knees from hitting the ground so rough. You picked up your books but didn't run, in fear of being shouldered again. You were glancing up past every classroom, reading each sign.

Class 1A.

The name rang throughout your mind. I found it, you thought to yourself silently congratulating yourself. You took a deep breath and was about to knock when someone shoved you to the side. That rude blonde haired boy from before! You were about to give him a piece of your mind when the door opened and the whole class stared at you.

"Bakugou? What were you doing with a girl?! I'm so jealous.." A smaller boy said, with purple balls in his hair.

Bakugou didn't reply and instead sat in his seat. You felt uncomfortable and forced yourself to walk to the front of the classroom.

"Are you Watanabe Mari?" Said Mr. Aizawa. You nodded slowly and put your hands in front of you, fiddling with your fingers as you nervously smiled. "Go ahead and introduce yourself. Class, we have a new student. Try to help her around if she needs anything."

"Hello.." You shuffled your feet and bowed, suddenly rising up again. "I'm Watanabe Mari. Nice to meet you all, Please treat me well."

A boy with blackish blue hair and glasses stood up, almost saluting me? "Welcome to Class 1A, Watanabe Mari." He bowed back and I smiled slightly at his kindness. It kind of put me at ease more.

"Go ahead and sit next to Todoroki, Ms. Watanabe." Mr. Aizawa said. I looked at the class dumbfounded.

"T..Todoroki..? Who's that?" My eyes scanned the classroom and a boy with half white and half red hair raised his hand.

"I'm Todoroki." He said, no emotion in his face. Not even a smile. After that, he lowered his hand and continued to take notes.

I walked over to the empty desk next to him and sat down, placing my bag on the ground next to me. I glanced over Todoroki's shoulder to see what page to open the textbook up to when he suddenly turned over to face me, our faces inches away from each other. I quickly pulled back, my cheeks beginning to feel hot. I tried to say something so I wouldn't seem like a creep when he stared at me.

"I-I was just uh.. wondering what page.. uh we were on. Looks like its page 83! Ahaha.. thanks.." You stuttered out, putting your right arm up and covering yourself, face palming.

You sounded like an idiot.

Then the bell rang. You saw two boys walking over to your seat and they sat down in the desks around you.

"I'm Denki Kaminari!" An orange haired boy said.

"And I'm Minoru Mineta." The shorter boy from earlier said. He took my hand and held it in his, pressing his lips against the back of my hand. I sat there, shocked一no, paralyzed. Was I scared? Or was I worried.. for their well-being.

"Ah.. Well I'm Watanabe Mari. You can call me Mari." I said, letting out a nervous and awkward chuckle.

Suddenly a girl smacked Mineta's head, giving him a bloody nose. Your hand was set free! Kaminari's eyes widened at the sight of Mineta and yelled.

"M-Mineta!! Are you alright? Gosh, Jiro you could've killed him!" Kaminari said, dragging Mineta back to their rightful seats.

The girl, Jiro, turned back to me. I gulped, in fear of getting hit too. She raised her arm up and I flinched and shut my eyes.

"Silly, I'm not gonna hit you. I only hit pervs like Mineta." She said, emphasizing his name loudly. "I'm Jiro, Nice to meet ya."

I smiled and turned to my right only to see Todoroki looking in our direction.

Was he still weirded out by earlier?

He quickly turned away and occupied himself with classwork.

"Nice to meet you too. This class really is full of some.. amazing people huh?" I said in response.

"By the way, you look just like the hero Element. You could be her daughter or something." My smile soon faded away as Jiro continued. "It's a shame she passed away, she was a really strong hero you know? The way she passed away was sad too, it made her look worthl一"

"She.. was my mom." I forced a side smile and rubbed the back of my head. Jiro suddenly stood up and had a look of regret on her face.

"W-Watanabe, I'm so so sorry. I didn't mean that she died a worthless hero.." She apologized, which soon brought attention to many of our other fellow classmates. Todoroki glanced over to us, I'm sure he heard this conversation since he was sitting next to me.

"Jiro, It's really okay! You didn't say anything bad so stop apologizing." I stood up and smiled at her before walking out of the classroom. I shut the door behind me and let out a deep breath.

Don't cry, Watanabe Mari. Do not cry.

Tears began to trickle down the side of your cheeks. You rushed up to the top of the roof and sat down on the ground hugging your legs.

"Mom."
