Anna was babysitting John's children while him and Esme were going to a local market of some sort, they were getting something. Anne didnt pay attention to what, she was probably daydreaming or something at the time.
"Anne?" She heard as well as a door opening. It sounded like someone she knew.
"Yeah, Emma?" Anna asked as she held one of the youngest on her lap. The two others were play fighting on the carpet while Emma passed them.
"There you were, I didnt know if you were working at The Garrisons or not today." She smiled as she picked up the child on Anna's lap.
"I only have a few shifts this weekend, but the night ones-" Anne said and gave a weak smile "The worst ones."
"I'll come over and keep you company." Emma winked.
"Everytime you come and keep me company, it always ends up you blackout drunk with some twat." Anna said rolling her eyes and acted irritated, but she really loved it when Emma would make a fool out of herself.
"While we are talking about blackout drunk-" Emma said as she changed the subject, saving herself the emberassment. "Huge party at the Pier."
"Why huge?" Anna questioned. She liked parties at the Pier, because it was the same people and always good vibe there. Who else are going?
"Many of the guys that came home from the war are coming-" Emma smiled and grabbed an apple on the table. Taking a huge bite. "You know how the girls get."
"Ugh, I dont want to go then." Anna said stubbornly. Emma rolled her eyes and put the happy child on her hip for better balance. "They just stand there drooling over them, trying to get laid."
"Anna-" She took a huge bite again and started to talk with food in her mouth. "We wont associate ourselves with them, we are going there to get-"
Emma put the little boy on the table and covered his small ears. "Fucked up."
"Even if I wanted too, I cant-" Anna sighted and picked her nails. "John and Esme are coming home tonight."
"Anna, that has never stopped you." Emma said irritated. "Please."
"I'll think about it." Anna sighted loudly.
"Thats a yes and I'll be outside your window at 8." Emma jumped happily and gave the little boy over to Anna again.
"Dont count on it." Anna yelled after her bestfriend as she ran out the door. Emma was most likely getting booze for the night, expecting Anna to come along.
Anna was truly happy for everyone coming safely home from the war, she was. It was just how many of the younger ones acted, even her two older brothers. They were so cocky and acted so better than everyone else. It wasnt all their fault, many of the girls fueled their ego on a daily basis. Just a wink and a girl got swooned. Barf.
A door opened. It was her brother, Arthur. He came inn in a quick pace, as if he had forgotten something.
"Anna, didnt see ya there." Arthur smiled as he noticed her. He kissed both of the playing children on the floor on the head before heading over to the nearby cabinet. "Good evening, darling."
"Good evening, my favorite brother." Anna smiled.
"I finally won over John?" Arthur chuckled, knowing John will forever be her favorite. Anna heard glasses hitting each other from the cabinet, he was looking for alcohol. She was not suprised. Ever since they came home, they had become overnight alcoholics. Drinking whiskey and smoking everyday.
"Third drawer, Arthur." Anna said as she guessed he was looking for John's expensive whiskey. Anna knew those drawers like the back of her hand.
Arthur knew Anna drank and such, he was pro-alcohol for her. The rest of her family didnt want her drinking, but they were not so strict (considering half of them are now alcoholics). They wouldnt get mad unless she got blackout drunk.
"Thank you, Anna." Arthur smiled as he opened the third drawer, revealing the whiskey.
"Fourth night in a row, sheesh." Anna teased. It was in fact the fourth night of him drinking, even though he didnt get blackout drunk the nights before.
"Oh okay miss party by the Pier." Arthur chuckled and closed the cabinet.
"Whatever, leave before I snitch." She laughed and shooed him off.

Anna was laying on the floor playing with the kids. They were braiding her hair as she was almost about to sleep. The kids were not making it easy for her to have a nap, they were tugging on her clothes and telling made-up stories. Loudly.
A door opens and she opens her eyes. Its John and Esme.
"Ello' kids-" John yelled as they came running for a hug from their father. Anna slowly got up, she was met by a hug from Esme. "And Anna."
"How are ya?" John said as he gave Anna a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "They've not been a hassle?"
"I'm fine, they've been really good." Anna smiled and stretched.
"I'll get started on dinner." Esme tied her hair up and paced to the kitchen. "John, could you fetch me some carrots at the market?"
"I'm sorry Es, I have other plans." John said lighting a cigarette. "Thomas wants to talk to us, something about London."
"So you'll be missing dinner?" Esme said sternly.
"I don't know, just eat without me if I'm not there." John said as he got on his coat. Ready to head out again. He probably was going out tonight, drinking, but he didn't want to tell Esme.
"Fine." She sighted, but she smiled as soon as he gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Anna, could you grab it then?"
"Sure thing." Anna said as she put on her shoes, John was already out the door.

It was soon eight, Anna had said she didn't feel well and had gone to bed early. She still was debating on wether or not to go out.
Two small rocks hit her bedroom window. She looked out and saw Emma waving her arms frantically.
Anna opened the window, climbed down a step and then jumped 2 meters from where she was to the ground.
I guess I am going out.
"I knew it." Emma smirked as she handed Anna a bottle of something.
"Shut up." Anna rolled her eyes and took a sip, scrunching her nose because of the taste. "Just promise me you'll help me get up again by the end of the night."
"Yadda yadda." Emma pushed her lightly and grabbed another bottle for herself. "I always do."
"That's not true-" Anna said as she listed up all the times Emma had ditched her for either some guy or ended up somewhere else.
"Let's not think that far, let's just think about this right now." Emma waved her strong liquor and drank it moments later.
