The clash of clans (Gruvia Fan-fiction)

Chapter one : Water and Ice

Before we start this story, let's go back a long way. To the time when Fullbuster and Lockser, two great clans of Magnolia were in great terms. Amongst all the other clans - Dragneel, Heartfilia, Fernandez, Dreyer and many others, the Fullbusters and Locksers seemed to have had a rather close relationship. The emblem for the Fullbuster clan was ice and the Lockser's bore the emblem of water. The two clans had been friends for generations.

Time skip

It was a bright summer morning. You could hear the birds chirping and the lively voices of workers. Suddenly, there was a loud thud on the wooden floor. The thud was followed by the ever-enthusiastic greetings of a little girl. It was none other than the young mistress Juvia of Lockser clan. She ran down the stairs, tumbling through most of them. The maids were busy serving breakfast to the master and his missus when young Juvia barged in. She tied her blue locks up in a high ponytail as the sunlight reflected in her ocean blue eyes.
" Juvia is off to school! See you later mother, father ! Juvia loves you!", she said before she rushed out without giving her parents the opportunity to ask her for breakfast.

Breathing heavy
, the bluenette keeps a hand on her chest. She catches her breath for a second and walks into a classroom full of people. Entering, she was greeted by her best friend Lucy of the Heartfilia clan and Erza, who was the daughter of a respected swordsmith. Juvia mostly ignored all of the greetings from her friends, for her eyes scanned through the classroom to stop at the sight of a boy, who had black hair and dark-droopy eyes looking outside the window with the usual annoyed expression on his face. Instantly her face lit up and she ran towards him. "Gray- Sama!!"Juvia exclaimed. The dark haired boy turned his face towards her. "Oh, hey Juvia", he said not changing his expression. Juvia asked if she could sit beside him. He looked out the window not answering her question. "Juvia will take that as a yes" , she said taking a seat beside him.

As classes continued, Juvia spent most of her time staring at Gray as he paid attention to the teacher. At the end of school, Gray headed out not saying a word to Juvia. Juvia chased after him till she reached the school gates.
Juvia will ask Gray-sama if she can walk home with him today. She thought. "Gray-sama!" she called out. Gray turned behind, but before Juvia could ask him to walk home with her, Natsu and Lucy ran towards Gray almost dragging him along with them, leaving Juvia alone on the school ground. It's okay, there's always tomorrow. Juvia thought. Juvia walked home alone that day, day dreaming about Gray sitting beside her.
The next day, Juvia arrived before Gray and saved the seat beside her for him. But Gray came into class walking over to sit beside Natsu, leaving Juvia to sit beside Erza. Throughout the entire day Juvia seemed rather quiet, staring at Gray. She tried talking to him during recess, but he was pre occupied with Natsu and Lucy. Erza, however noticed Juvia's efforts, but didn't know what to do about it. After school Juvia gathered her courage and rushed to Gray making her way through Gray's friends. "Gray-sama! CAN JUVIA WALK HOME WITH YOU TODAY?" She asks screaming, stopping the commotion Natsu was making. They all stared surprised. "Jeez. You didn't have to scream y'know?" Gray said annoyed as he walked out the classroom followed by Juvia.
"So Juvia can walk with you?"
"Whatever"
"Yay! Juvia loves you Gray-sama!"
"Tch", Gray scoffed.

Gray's stop arrived first, so Juvia waved him goodbye. It was sad watching Gray walk into his house all alone, with no family to go home to. Gray Fullbuster, young master of the clan Fullbuster who bared the emblem of Ice was orphaned a year ago when his family was ambushed and murdered, leaving him, the only living Fullbuster. Gray was never lively, but since then Gray seemed exceptionally quiet and annoyed. Juvia walked the rest of the way wondering what she could do to make Gray feel better. "Yosh!" Juvia said as if though she'd remembered something. "Juvia will make Gray-sama a bento for lunch."
Juvia rushed home and dropped her bag at the doorstep running towards the kitchen. Juvia didn't really know how to cook, considering her family had always hired maids for it. It was her first time cooking, so there were a lot of unsuccessful tries. But in the end, she was able to make a perfect bento for gray. Well, almost perfect. The excitement of giving Gray a lunchbox didn't let Juvia sleep that night. The next day she missed breakfast again rushing out in excitement to hand Gray the lunch she'd made him. Up on reaching school, she met everyone at the school ground hanging around. She ran over and greeted everyone. Everyone greeted her back besides Gray.
"Gray-sama?"
"What is it?"
"Is Gray-sama okay?"
"Totally."
"Umm.. Gr-.. Gray-sama, Juvia made you lunch, for walking home with her yesterday", she said handing him over the bento.
"There's no need for that" he said not looking at it.
"B-but Juvia —"
"I don't you to cook lunch for me Juvia. I have maids for that. Besides, you made a face of me on the bento. How do you think it'll feel like to chew on my own face?"
"Gr-Gray-sama..."
Gray tucked his hands in his uniform pockets and walked away. Juvia just stood there looking down at the lunchbox.
"Juvia. Are you okay?"
Juvia turned to see Erza looking at her concerned.
She faked a smile and said "Juvia is okay! Juvia will try again tomorrow. She didn't do a very good job on the bento anyway, its better if Gray-sama doesn't taste it. Thank you Erza-san"

I don't think water can melt ice that easily Juvia. Good luck.
