Cold air expels from your mouth as you let out a small sigh. Your propped your back against the door of your new home as you took a quick break, bags among bags lay piled at your feet.
This town felt so alien to you. So perfect. So unrealistic. It almost felt like something out of a kids show, overly saturated blues, greens, and yellows exploded against the pastel blue backdrop. Talking of oversaturated, a small girl, probably around 12 to 13 approaches you. She's so pink she could probably put the pink panther to shame, with everything from her hair to her clothes a bright shade of bubblegum pink. "Hi there! My names Stephanie! You must be new here, welcome to lazy town, all of my friends are so excited to meet you." She was so overly animated it startled you. You jumped back and Stephanie only stared bewildered, blinking and tilting her head to the side. "Oh right! Sorry! Hi my names Y/N! Nice to meet you uh, what was it again?" Obviously offended but trying her best not to show it, in her same overly happy voice she replied "Stephanie hehe! So I was wondering would you like to come play with my friends?" You gave her a puzzled look. At the age of 25, you thought you were probably to old to be playing with children, but what the heck why not? "Uh, sure why not." Yay!" She replied beaming, like she had just been gifted a puppy. "Also here's a little tip, even if your not confident about something, never let it show! If you don't stutter people will not be able to stop themselves from believing everything you say as your so kind and pretty looking!" "Wow. Umm thanks! I mean. Thanks Stephanie!" "See now your getting it!" She giggles and drags you to the playground.
These children must have been some of the oddest children you had ever seen, personalities and looks. And you thought Stephanie was weird! They all felt so fake, like they had to fill some weird archetype. Pixel was the smart one, Trixie was the sporty one, Ziggy was the cinnamon roll, and stingy was the brat. They all felt so over exaggerated to you, but none the less they were fun to be around, and were surprisingly cute and quirky when you got to know them, even stingy! "Tag! Your it!" "No fair! I don't want to be it! This game is mine now and I'm not it!" Stingy sat and sulked in the corner and I couldn't help but giggle to myself, but that giggle soon turned into a gasp as a athletic man dressed entirely in blue summersaulted over the park fence and landed on his feet in front of stingy. "Why the long face?" He said in the most beautiful Swedish voice. "I don't want to be it! It's not fair I don't. Want. To. Be. It!"
"But stingy, in these kind of games, you just have to except you can't always be what you want, and I'll help you catch someone so you don't have to be it anymore!" Stingy sniffled, but after a second or two of consideration, nodded his head in agreement and him and this strange man ran after Stephanie and tagged her, Stephanie laughed and ran after pixel, and all was well again. "That was fast" you said to yourself, laughing slightly."Hello!" You screamed as the blue clad man stood behind you. You didn't even notice him! "I don't think I've seen you before! My names Sportacus, welcome to lazy town!" "
H-hi Sportacus! My names Y/N."
Wow. Y/N. That's a beautiful name"
"H-huh?" You turned a shade of red and Sportacus followed as you both just stared at each other for a bit. This moment of awkward silence gave you the perfect opportunity to stare at his eyes. They were the most enchanting shade of blue, completely contrasting your dull e/c eyes. "Oooooo! Sportacus likes Y/N!" Stephanie playfully cooed, as the rest of the kids joined in. "Sportacus and Y/N sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"
"That's quite enough." Sportacus Said awkwardly laughing. "Well umm Y/N? I really have to go but how about I show you around town tomorrow?"
"Yeah sure I would love that." You replied with a faint smile.
"So.. would I" he whispered, before realising he has said it out loud. The kids carried on laughing and mocking him as he turned red again.
"Well, See you tomorrow Sportacus!"
"Yeah! See you tomorrow Y/N"
He gave you a dashing smile and a thumbs up before somersaulting off into the distance. You just watched as you saw him climb up a ladder to a huge blimp in the sky. "That's where he lives? That's got to be so cool..."You walked back home slowly, letting the overly happy scenery sink in. You turned the key and entered your now new home, and decided to sleep outside today. You laid down in the garden, sandwiched with duvets, and stared at the stars, but naturally your eyes drifted towards the Blimp.
"See you tomorrow Sportacus." You whispered to yourself as you closed your eyes and drifted off to sleep, little did you know that Sportacus was saying "See you tomorrow Y/N" back on his blimp
