Dry branches cracked underfoot as I ran through the dark forest. My breathing was uneven as I ran. They were gaining. I could feel their hot breath on my neck and their sharp nails almost catch my shirt. Howls pierce the air as I try to escape. My legs start to burn as I jump over a large fallen tree and I bite my lip in pain.
Suddenly I'm tackled from behind by a huge beast. His huge paws pin me to the ground and I lay face up in front of a terrible monstrous wolf. Saliva drips from its panting canines. It's eyes are jet black and I can see my fear reflected back at me through the orbs. It's muscles flex as I squirm keeping me pinned and motionless. The tears I had been holding back finally break free and I start to beg for them to let go of me. A deep throaty snarl emanates from deep in the beasts core and I scream out for help. I can hear the other beasts circling us and their panting laughs.
One of them starts to howl and the rest join in. The beast pinning me down growls and snarls before howling along with them. As I try to kick my way free, I feel his weight shift and a sudden snap sends pains throughout my whole body.
A loud guttural scream pierced the air as my arm shatters under his weight. Tears pour from my eyes as he shifts his weight again and shatters my right leg. They howl contently and I start to see multicolored spots before my eyes. My breathing gets shallower as I gasp for air and blackness rims my vision.
As my eyes start to close, and my lungs gasp for breath through the pain, I hear a loud yelp from the group of wolves. I strain to keep my eyes open for seconds longer and try to see my savior. All I can see is the shadowy tree tops and the ebony sky dotted with glistening stars. The crescent moon shone soothingly on my face and I closed my eyes in slight comfort. The pain was washing away for some reason. Slipping through my fingers like sand.
Then I know that I am dieing. That vile rouge probably broke my arm and shattered my leg. A bone could have pierced the skin and now I am bleeding out. The pain isn't there anymore except an awful ringing in my ears. Slowly I come to realize it's my screaming.
Suddenly everything shifts. There is no howling or wolf ontop of me pinning me to the forest floor. A figure rushes to my side and supports me against his chest. I whimper slightly in pain but warmth is spreading across my body. He pulls me into his arms and starts to nuzzle my neck and i feel butterflies down in the pit of my stomach.
'Mate' he whispers before I slip unwillingly into unconsciousness.---------------------------
