"Me your soul mate? Aren't you too old to be with a 13 year old?" I asked puzzled. James chuckled and nodded. " I'm as old as time Billie, but this body is about 24 years old" I shook my head in disbelief. "There's no way I'm just a child" I panicked. I started to chew on my lip "Billie calm down. I met you many centuries ago." My heart dropped to my stomach. "What do you mean?" I asked with a hint of fear. "Reincarnation is real. You used to be the most annoying person I've ever met but it became one of your greatest features. I fell in love with you for many reasons and have been chasing your soul ever since." I blushed and then realized he called me annoying. "How was I annoying?" " you seem to have really low self esteem and lacked confidence" I was embarrassed because I was exactly the same. "Looks like I'm annoying then" he smiled and ran his fingers through my hair. My mama did that back when I was a child so it brought lots of comfort . "Well Billie, I should walk you back home." I didn't really notice the time go by but it was 7. The lilac sky made me realize that I should've been home hours ago. "Shoot I missed dinner." James just smiled and walked with me. "So has there even been a difference in all of my reincarnations?" "The only thing I remember is your big grey eyes. Although you have been different genders" "so you swing both ways?" "Technically I do yes but I have always payed attention to only your soul." "So really it didn't matter what I was, you were there because of my soul?" I waited for what seemed forever for his response. "Yeah pretty much" we got to my house. I looked him in the eyes and smiled. "Thank you for walking me to my house. It was nice hearing about how annoying I am." James let out a chuckle and shook his head. "It's the least I could do. I was the reason why you stayed out for a long time" I nodded and went for the door knob then I realized it was locked. Whenever my mom had a mental breakdown my dad locked the door so I wouldn't witness it. James knew what the locked door meant. "Let's continue walking then." I nodded and walked. "So can everyone see you or just me" I asked him. "Right now as we speak they can, but I decide when I want to be seen" it made more sense why Mrs. Hill said I was alone. "That's cool..." I began to trail off "I don't wanna look crazy though" James sighed and chuckled "you and caring about what people think, you're being annoying again." My face got heated and I shook my head. "No I just.." he interrupted me. "You really need to grow up.."

And that was the last time I saw him... at least until I turned 20
