Izuku's POV

I woke up in the infirmary to Recovery Girl staring down at me, watching over me like a mother hawk watching her young chicks devour worms.

"Well it took you long enough kid. You've been unconscious for almost four hours." She said as she leaned away from me and strode over to a desk on the other side of the room. She picked up a clipboard and checked off a couple things, then returned to my side.

"It seems like you passed out from a combination of exhaustion and shock. From what I'm not sure." She explained, taking a step back on her giant syringe cane.

"How did I get here? Last thing I remember...I was training on the grounds..." I asked, sitting up in the bed to get a better look at her.

"Oh. One of the upperclassmen brought you. That girl in third year. Ugh I can't remember her name. Pretty girl, big eyes, blue here..." She started, tapping her chin as she thought.

"Oh yes. Her name was, Nejire Hadou." She finished, pointing her infamous cane at me.

"Oh...I guess I better find her and thank her for bringing me here then. Thank you again Recovery Girl. Am I free to go now?" I asked, very much ready to get out of there and head home.

"Sure. You seem okay by me. Just get a good night's rest tonight and you should be fine in the morning." She waved me off, turning back to the clipboard and computer in front of her.

"Okay then. Well I'm heading out. Thanks again and have a good evening!" With that I left the school compound and headed home. On my way out of the school I spotted Kacchan leaving the school training grounds, heaving slightly and covered in sweat, obviously just completing an intense training workout. He turned and spotted me, my hands instinctively rising to cover my face.

"What the hell are you doing here you damn nerd!" He screamed from about 20 meters ahead of me as explosions went off in his hands.

"Well umm...I kinda...I was training and...I...I passed out and someone brought me to the nurse.." I replied, stammering through the entire thing.

"Whatever you useless nerd. Just get out of my damn sight. I don't know how you got that quirk or whether you were hiding it, but it's so pathetic and weak and guess it's befitting of a loser like you." With that he headed off out of the gate and into the streets, disappearing behind the front walls. I waited a moment before I left, partly scared because of what he said and his attitude and partly unsure of what to do with myself from here on in.

Once I was sure he was gone I headed out, taking my usual path to the train station, riding it all the way to the nearest stop near my home. I hoped off, trudging my way home, feeling quite tired from the bit of training I did and probably Recovery Girl using her quirk on me. I managed to pull myself to my front door where I unlocked the door and dropped my bag inside.

"Izuku is that you at the door>"

"Yeah mom it is. Sorry for being late."

"Okay hunny. I'm just finishing up making dinner. Go upstairs and clean up yourself." With that I did as I was told. As I came back down I was met by her sitting at the table, food set out with a slightly agitated look on her face.

"So son, why is it that you came home so late?"

"Well...umm...I was training in school. And then I passed out on the field...But you don't have to worry! I'm fine now! I went to Recovery Girl and she said I was fine!"

"Izuku! You have to be more careful! You don't need to push yourself so hard! You could get really hurt! I still don't know how you got that quirk of yours. It's nothing like your father's or mine. You break your bones and end up in a hospital state just by using it once. You're not cut out to being a hero son. I know it's your dream but you need to wake up and realize that it's not you're meant for. I'm still surprised you got into UA." I just sat there, not really knowing what to say. I was upset, frustrated that my mother would say that, to my face, after I had gone through all that I had and cried and studied. It hurt to hear her say that. I looked up at her, my eyes brimming with tears.
